Nope. If you get a month break between Indoc and airplane training, that's 90hrs you will be paid to sit at home in your superman underwear. It's a great deal. So great, that once you finish IOE, you'll notice a pay cut from that sweet 90hr a month pay you were previously getting. Can't stay on the training tit forever though.....or can you???

IIRC if you're sitting around for a long stretch unused between training segments, I think you go to 73 hours vice 90. Still better than a sharp stick in the eye.

That is not correct. You get 3 her per day until OE begins...then you have to get into LOA 34 for the specifics of how the company will try to rip you off. If they need you to wait a month or two for training...that is on them. Collect your 90 or 93 hours per month.

They count on new hires not to push back on contractual issues. Don't let them steal from your pocket.

Interesting... I may have to look at some old pay stubs...

It's not beneath the company to shaft the new hires that don't know better. That's the reason we have the half wing. The free beer is just a nice side affect .

The half wing signifies that you are new and learning the ropes. If you ask a question with a half wing on you will get lots of help, and your CAs are supposed to look out for you to make sure no one is taking advantage of you especially the crew desk!

Wear the half wing and ask questions! If you are being screwed most everyone can tell you where to go and who to talk to get it fixed.

This. And the real hit is in the per diem. You'll go from 30 days/month to maybe 15 in a good reserve month. Maybe less...far less based on BES. So don't let the spouse get used to 90 hrs and 30 days per diem. More like 73 hrs and 12 days per diem on average. Don't let the spouse get used to it. Basic math says that's $8,800/month before and $6400 after.

The callout for being on RSV is 2.5 hours for EWR, right? Same for LGA? Just checkin...I'm looking to live in-domicile.
Good luck!

Yes, and no. Co-Domiciles, the call out time for reserve is the same for co-terminals, no difference. Short call is 2.5 hrs to show, or 3.5 to push. Long call is 12 hrs notice. If you drive, there are allowances for unplanned traffic problems. Prudent commuter policy in the FOM for those who commute.

EWR base is also responsible for LGA, & JFK, but we don't fly out of JFK any more. No customer interest there...

My take home is 37-4200/month. It was 4200 for the big check, so it's a pretty good hit leaving tk.

Is your training pay accurate or a mistype? Either way it's a significant hit.
