You give Altour all your ff numbers and they file them into their system. When they book you a ticket, your ff# is automatically attached via their system.

Potentially dumb question of the day. It seems UPS is far more commute friendly than the pax airlines. So I’m wondering if living in domicile is that much of a QoL boost compared to living at a big gateway like phl or Dfw. I’m sure it opens up turns as an option but the commercial deadheads and the option of RON at home seems nice at the out stations.

That being said - yes living around Dallas or Philly or Newark or Chicago (West/northwest burbs) can provide a bump in QOL compared to the average commuter due to higher number of layovers in those cities (relative to other gateways) and increased direct flight commercial DH options.

Living close to a larger gateway has added days at home for me before/after and during trips as well. I commute from PHL and can get a few trips a bid period that start or end a trip from PHL essentially adding 24 hours at home while the clock still runs, layover in your home city can be pretty frequent also, normally 24 hours or so, but can be more. For example I have a 5 day trip later this month and it has a 55 hour layover in PHl.

What fleet are you on? I live in PHL and interviewed recently—hoping for a good call soon, any suggestions on what to bid? (as if I’d have a choice)

I’m on the A300, I bid it solely for ease of commuting.
If you get hired I wouldn’t be surprised if every airplane and domicile is available, based on the system bid that closed today. Don’t quote me on that because you will find out that if you think UPS is going to do one thing, they will wind up doing the complete opposite.
I can’t speak specifically for the other fleets but if your looking for the most time at home I would think the A300 or 75 would be your best bet.

Anyone commute from places with only one flight each night? (i.e. not the PHLs and DFWs of the world)
Four or five hour drive. Single flight on UPS. Weekdays. No nonstops on pax.
Thoughts? Assume I can’t move to SDF for now…
