Probably not everything, but when multiple mechanics at different locations tell you their union has told them to update their displacement preferences, makes you go hmmmm.

With the amount of retirements. no F…..haven’t even heard of such rumors..altho when contract negotiations heat up im sure we will hear it.

Yes heard DFW day sort could be shutting down….PHL doesn’t have a day sort

Why is our postal volume leaving? Contract expiring?

2) Our volume is down below Pre Covid levels. Latest report from the union (a few weeks ago, anyway) was volumes are still higher than pre-Covid levels and the forecast (from the company) in the next 12-18 months is for those volumes to increase slightly and then stabilize.

They’ve been full and heavy flights, per the normal. Maybe I’m just flying to and from the wrong gateways, but everyone I’ve talked to in theater has seen normal volumes.

The rest I can’t speak to because I don’t fly domestic, but there’s a lot of misinformation here being thrown around.

PHL doesn’t have a day sort, but rumors of DFW NDA sort gone and a few PHL NDA flights possibly gone. Our postal volume is actually going up, which will keep the Friday afternoon flights going. There is no longer going to be a Friday afternoon sort, but will be a postal sort.

I will agree with you that this hiring window is closed and can’t see us hiring again for at least the remainder of year, probably longer.

Dunno man, the sky isn’t falling. Maybe because we’re not hiring like it’s 2022? Some anger and discontent due to the slower movement? One thing about this place, they adapt to the economy and figure out a way to make money. It’ll all be good when this thing shakes out.
