I successfully completed the UPS interview in Nov 22 with a Jan 23 available date, and obviously sat in the pool since then while working for a major. Despite seniority here, I remained excited about UPS but draining the pool and having me start the entire process over again seems disrespectful of time and effort I already invested. I'll pass on re-applying. I know the company doesn't care, but I say that for any reader who may be able to influence HR processes in the future. I wish you guys the best, looks like a great job with an enviable close knit pilot union. Hopefully I can give some of you rides to work in the future, cheers!

Don’t fault you in your decision making process for a second. Though I left Brown for a legacy solely for QOL reasons (driving to work being #1), the pilot group/IPA are second to none.

Happy to see them start hiring again. Good luck to all applying, it’s a great place to be for many if you can land there.

So they are saying the poolies have to reinterview...not just resubmit application as is the case every year??

If that is the case...foul

Pure hubris on their part. They don't care and believe they will have no issues filling seats.

I agree, but I feel like there are only so many high quality applicants who want to come to UPS. Throwing some away is just stupid, wasteful, and counterproductive.

Pretty arrogant on their part considering first year pay. It’ll be interesting to see who comes through the door in the next 3-4 months.

The airline hiring game is the stupidest game I have ever played. I hated every minute of it. The day I decided I was done playing that game was the happiest day of my career even if I didn't get to where I originally wanted to go. I'm employed by a company that never jacked me around during the hiring process. I applied, they called, I interviewed, they hired me - no running hither and yon across the country paying hundreds of dollars to attend conferences put on by affinity organizations I care nothing about just to spend five minutes talking to a recruiter to beg for an interview.

Take this for what its worth, but I heard that those in the pool prior to flushing (due to incompatable new HR hiring software) would be contacted this week and offered preferential class dates for this new round of hiring.

SWA and UA and you want to go to Omni? I suggest you read the forums over there. They have lost most of their contracts. aTSG is pulling a number on Omni. I would really suggest against that place. It’s not what it used to be after ATSG took over. Heck they could not even pay their simulator bills recently. They have had several pilots pushed back on classes for months after said pilots had already quit their previous jobs.
stay away from that place.

Confirmed. Looks like they’ll be offered the first class starting in late May per chief pilot email.
