A willingness to forgo less profitable deliveries is a key part of the company's "better not bigger" framework. Indeed, as illustrated below, volumes declined in 2022. Still, the difference this year is that the magnitude of the decline is so large that even ongoing increases in revenue per piece couldn't generate revenue growth for the company. It's a similar story with the international segment."

If they had far more applicants than they needed for the VTP wouldn’t they just let even more expensive captains leave. They got to pick exactly how many people left. Why would they then furlough? Why allow only 10 FOs to VTP?

UPS has informed the IPA that they will accept Voluntary Leaves of Absence (VLOA) and Reduced Guarantee Lines (RDG) requests for Bid Period 24-01 (Peak Bid).
NOTE: The Company has stated they will may award VLOA/RDG requests in select F/S/D for BP24-01, but would not commit to any VLOA/RDG awards for the Peak bid.
