Fair enough. I'd still disagree to a point. I understand where you're coming from and appreciate the argument. However, here is the difference as I see it. I'm not a news reporter. I am an actual aviation professional. Writing specific articles related to the safety of flying the aircraft in our fleet brings with it a broader depth of understanding into the cockpit. Writing articles about 747 engine icing, CRM, sleep deprivation/fatigue/countermeasures, aircraft thunderstorm avoidance, etc., all bring more situational awareness to the flight deck. This allows one to become a better overall pilot. Does it improve my stick and rudder skills? No, of course not, but I do believe it has helped me to become a better pilot, without question. If nothing else, spend some time reading through NTSB accident reports and tell me you're not sobered and at least reminded of the importance of checklists, SOPs, and CRM.

I kept breaking the crayons.

Did anyone that updated for 2017 get an immediate email offering the assessment? As soon as I updated I received an email to take the assessment test. I took the test and passed then later that day I got an email saying that the assessment was sent in error.

Ouch, that's just cruel...

I've been searching around here wondering the same thing. From the application, the list of "Do this, do that" states:

List all fixed-wing jet aircraft and all fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop aircraft flown up to a maximum of twelve aircraft.

Reading that, I only listed those types in that section. My SE/ME piston and SE turbine times aren't broken down anywhere, so of course, my TT differs from what's recorded in a/c flown. Like you, I can't see a way to enter them anyway due to the engine drop-down box not having a selection.

Anyone have an answer for this?

Reapplied. My app from 2016 still shows "active." My 2017 also shows "active" and I can log in at any time and make changes. Fingers crossed!

Intl phone question: get a google voice number with us area code.

Volunteer time: UPS is very big in supporting the communities they serve. Of course it looks good on a resume. UPS is a very conservative company.

Question: anyone get a second attempt at an interview or is it one and done? TIA

Understood. Thanks!

How long should your resume be, though? If I loaded up my volunteer time on it, I could have a resume that is several pages. Any suggestion on how to incorporate onto the resume?
Thanks.

I just checked www.jobs-ups.com and there is no option for pilot positions. Is this the proper place to start an application? Should I expect to see a pilot option soon?
