Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
So last week I'm on a trip and it has a 23 hr layover which happens to be where I live
So while at home and making dinner I get a call from scheduling. (My first mistake was to answer the phone.) The scheduler proceeds to tell me that another crew was running 5 hrs late and that crew would not be able to make their 0625 show so he was giving them our 1040 show. He had gone through my captain and we were now going to pickup that part of the trip and then DH to our oringinal destination to finish the rest of our rotation. This turned a sch 6.10 hr day into a sch day 9.37 (actual was 10) and due to the amt of credit on the trip, we made nothing extra.
So my question is since I cannot find where it says I am responsible to be on some telephone recall while on a layover, what would happen if I did not take the call and showed as originally planned?

No, you are not responsible to be contactable on a layover but, if you do answer, they most likely have you. As a Captain, if I answer the phone, my first question is whether my FO has been contacted yet, if not, then I wont commit until I talk to him/her...... You can draw your own conclusions from that!
I want to help the company out as much as possible but will not agree to the reroute until we are both aware of it and in agreement......Denny
Funny stuff. I am senior on the ATL M88B, hoping to go to the 717A someday when I can hold it as a line holder. I used to fly the 767 Dom in ATL, but all I was doing was allnighters. No thanks. MSP 73N?? Really? Thanks for all the contract help though. Just remember, short duration, fewer RJs, ratio, 20% raise 3 years, good deal. Have a great night.

Republic. E170 kicks the CRJ's butt any day... For roughly the same pay over time +/- a few bucks per hour (since I would be looking at the Majors anyways down the line), I'd rather fly a mini-Airbus vs. a stretched Challenger for the entire time. I wish my POS airline would buy the E170 as I am trapped on the E135/145.

No worries. I was just venting - I am tired of the regionals. Operators like Jetsuite sound interesting but until they have been operating for awhile I wouldn't personally apply. The founders have some good experience and probably some cash, but the market is pretty fickle. Flying a Phenom 100 around the West Coast would probably be fun though.
Just curious about what newhire pay (pay range) would look like at Talon Air - say FO on the Hawker 800XP or Hawker 4000. What do these "bottom feeders" tend to pay newhires? Also, are the pilots at Talon cross-qualified on multiple aircraft (e.g., Hawker and the Beechjet or King Air) or just one type?
Talon's got a big fleet of aircraft according to the website. How many pilots total fly for Talon? Also, do these pilots tend to float around from one 135 operation to another at FRG/ISP when things don't work at Talon or do they get blackballed???? Where do they go (besides Jet Blue) when they leave?

True cgt. My barbie jet is ARCHAIC. I remember feeling a bit depressed about it one day and then I jumpsat on a NWA Diesel 9. I couldn't believe all of those dials and switches. I felt better about my "cutting edge" technology in comparison after that.
I'd happily trade you for your E190 if you are interested... I like that HUD!
