People keep mentioning Delta reserve policy but for a new 121 guy I have no idea what it is. Will someone please share what they know to be true about reserve at Delta. Upgrading is a tough consideration for me because reserve life here is the worst in the industry. We should be able to get more days off and improve QOL on reserve.
CS are easy to deal with and flexible. On Reserve (for the handful of months at most you'll spend on it) i was never called out at the minimum 2hr once. Not once. Typically assignments were scheduled days out.
You can commute in with the blessing of the company in your callout window, so P2 allows you to arrive at midday.
You don't hav to look far on this forum to see Regionals that have a mandatory 4am first day of reserve, an endless time on reserve and relish in calling you exactly 2 hours before an assignment.
On the 900 in NY i sat RR 3 times, and went from bottom of the list to holding a line with 17 days off in under 90 days.
i'd suggest that, once you actually see what color the grass is elsewhere, 9E is very green indeed.

9E Reserve policy certainly isn't the worst in he industry; not by a very long shot.

People are talking about what to improve on the next contract and reserve needs to be one of the items we improve. While movement is fast for FOs - it is not as fast for CA and we all know it has the potential to change drastically if we have an economic slow down. Lets stop arguing about our current reserve and band together to make it better for those that want to come here and those that want to stay here or possibly get stuck here.

I agree with you 100%. But it is not all contractual.

What we acheived last January were serious gains - even better than pre-bankruptcy JCBA language.

You guys should worry about the important stuff like.....attracting pilots to 9E and reserve rules don't mean diddly. With the American carriers upping their game, there's no reason to go to 9E right now. Zero. No flow and low pay? Really??? Don't wait for the MEC to do anything either, this needs to start now because once 9E runs out of pilots, who knows what will happen. And if you think Endeavor isn't at risk, check with the ComAir guys. They'll tell you. Delta will help a lot but once it gets too bad, it'll be a write off.

Really, you're going to reference ComAir? That was a totally different era. Whatever happens it will still be Delta and American slinging it out for the best regional contracts. That leaves a lot of other regional airlines that will be affected first. Jeez, you have not posted for a while, but I see you still post accurate well rounded posts?

That you believe it is a "totally different era" is exactly what I'm talking about. Don't let things happen to you, take charge for christs sake. Stop being a pawn. Force change or you get what you deserve. And jeez, you sound like a patsy with your constant complaining.
And to say there's "no reason to come to 9E over the AA WO" is BS too.
