No, no, no. You've got to hand it to the company for playing the union like a fiddle to get PBS into the mix. We could have had the money already but we didn't take it. Now to get the money we get PBS.

How could we have had the money already? The company hasn’t offered more money as far as I know.

They offered near AA wholly owned rates shortly after the wholly owned got their raises. The union wanted to negotiate the entire contract at that time instead of taking the money. I believe it was near $144 first year CA and over $200 top of the scale. FO scale started at $95.

Thats incredibly made up. The surveys came back for the exact opposite. Not renegotiating the whole contract. Negotiating committee just does what the MEC says and MEC follows the surveys of the group. We are where we are because of all of our votes. If you dont like PBS let it be known to your rep/ negociating committee. Or even better go help out and volunteer to be on a committee.
Reading the negotiating committees' emails it is easy to pick out the undertone that PBS is here to stay and the union is trying to make it palatable to the younger pilot group. The pilot group has made it clear time and time again that PBS is not wanted and that is has never been wanted. The union all on it's own agreed to do a pilot study of PBS. Who is working for who?

The union is doing a study of PBS because it’s required per the current CBA. The current CBA that I voted NO on. The union didn’t just randomly decide to do a PBS study. They’re doing it because it’s in the contract. We can’t pick and choose which parts of the contract we are going to abide by. Pilots don’t want PBS but our current crap contract says we have to at least look into it.

That's right, I forgot about that. My question still stands. Who is working for who? I understand that there is some give and take in negotiations, however, ZW tried taking us down this road before. Unfortunately, it seems that PBS will end up with us at ZW if we want raises despite the union telling us to keep telling them that we don't want it. Which, by the way, I've done.... several times.
