That's not what he asked. I'm also curious. Do you carry extra FOs in the bid(and give 30 days notice) or do you simply reduce them in the coming bid. I have to imagine it's a reduction bid and FOs unable to hold a position are eliminated Oct 1.

Delta has a special category for pilots unable to hold a position. They will eliminate them come Oct. But as of now they get paid 717 FO pay.

How would this work out? Say if they want to furlough 400. Does that mean advertise a 200 CA reduction, 200 FO reduction, and 0 vacancy? Since downgraded CAs have to get a FO spot, is that how it would go?

Yes, this is how it will look

Why even bother to publish the results of this bid. Might as well have just had JL send out an email saying it was canceled and that the reduction/furlough bid would be published in the coming weeks instead.

Originally the company wanted to use this time to reshape the airline for the future. They then realized that the little man power needed for the fall schedule would allow them to downsize and furlough at the same time, while still being able to cover Q3 2021. Shedding costs the fastest was the most desirable path for the company’s needs moving forward.

Fine, so why even bother publishing the results of this one, doesn’t seem to serve any purpose, just cancel it.

It was done... Flexibility for the next three weeks if they decide to change corse, with the cost of zero dollars.

You should be asking the union not OTZ. That being said it's pretty simple to understand a reduction bid. If you don't have the seniority to hold on to a position you will be furloughed. Management, LTD etc doesn't matter other than the fact of the company planning on how many they need to cover flying.

It would be nice to ask the union questions and get honest answers. I bet he would love that transparency, instead he gets the patented “we don’t know what we don’t know”, “company only sees this as a short term event”, and my favorite “the company hasn’t mentioned furlough”. Yeah talk to a P2P rep, that will help, all to pretend you are still driving, still in control.

The union is being overrun with “prats”, many incapable of even simple arithmetic and any self control at the dinner table😂! So yes, I am here to actually be open with everyone.

Honestly, it seems like you're here to bash the union and spread fear, uncertainty and doubt. I'm not sure why you continue to do this. I have reached out to the P2P people I know and the union. I am aware that these things take time, they are likely overwhelmed with contacts from all the guys stressing over a downgrade and that no one knows what is going to happen. So I'm waiting patiently.

I asked you a simple question regarding how the company deals with LTD and management pilots during a furlough. Thanks for answering it. If you simply continued to answer things factually in terms of process and procedure it would help us trial by fire guys out a lot.

If you continue to make wild predictions about the future when everyone else is in wait and see mode, it really does not help at all.

Adding up the bid block predictions for Nov paints an extremely grim picture of what's about to come.

I heard 1500-1600 for this fall 😱

I already gave those numbers... it’s not pretty

By bid blocks are they saying that will be the number of lines for November?
