I like the new system compared with old. Need stack height floors for reserve that would force them to carry higher % of reserve. I hate flips and forced into being up for 20+ hrs. The health effects are absolutely terrible. Getting consistent sleep and wake times are key. If there’s no WOCL override that is substantial I’m a no vote.

Thats... wild. I have not had the pleasure of working hybrid or mixed lines, so I am not intimately familiar with their quirks, but expecting to not be called unless you are that ultra-senior person on a long list of more junior pilots is a choice, and if they are uncomfortable with the consequences then they need to re-evaluate their risk tolerances.

I have no doubt that’s what they said, and I’m sure the company told them that and they just accepted it because it isn’t a priority for the negotiators. The company also said scope was a non starter last cycle and yet we ended up with at least some scope language. The union is simply saying they are unwilling to use negotiating capital on WOCL override. I think you’ll see most of what they are trying to negotiate will be wide body rates with very few changes or improvements to the existing contract.

I’d do anything to go back to the old system. 0230 was the junior line and it was fine if one was local. LCC was sold to the commuters and it’s been an absolute disaster for everyone with unlimited circadian flips. I’m sure our union had previously fought hard for 5 days off in a row for everyone on reserve for a lot of reasons. That just got thrown away without so much as a thought with this system. That was a horrible decision.

Interesting that no one in authority is really bothering to correct the false assumptions floating around SEA, I guess better the grease the JCBA if people think that's the only thing holding up SLI and their 48 hour CDG layovers.
