Yes I think we're all aware that SLI is built with seats, not people, and then the people are slotted in at the end.
So "him" displacing "me" is a slight metaphor. He might displace somebody else who might then displace me, etc. But if he's a 330F CA he's probably going to be displacing somebody.
I will encourage my SLI NC team to argue that the 330F are not in the same career expectation league as legacy pax WB's. Actually they probably realized that long before I did.
There's a reason I held out at the regional for a legacy pax job within driving distance. When I could have jumped to ACMI at any time.

My no vote is my only control over this dynamic. I hope my peers at least understand this. The JCBA better be amazing. Otherwise it’s in my best interest to delay the inevitable.

Our airline is already displacing pilots and downgrading captains. We still have one more round of this to staff SAN to go. The SLI will compound this problem to a much greater extent. The only way to at least keep seniority progression at least neutral rather than negative, is an uncertified version of the MAX.

It's irrelevant. All the WB flying could go away today, but because they were here at the snapshot, it counts. It's also irrelevant as the ACMI stuff isn't the only WB flying. If this logic were true, the order AS just placed for 787s would count for us. It doesn't...

Is snapshot already set? By who? Or subject to negotiation/arbitration?

It is typically the date of announcement. From that date, every new hire is woven in as DOH and the rest is subject to the APLA merger criteria for SLI. Whatever both airlines have in terms of what is used to determine SLI, is used from that moment.
