Guess what, you can’t have your cake and eat it too…it’s called negotiations, and I think our MEC/NC did each and everything they could fight for in negotiations.
First off, were you even on property a year ago to know what was being discussed by Alaska pilots?

Second, you have precisely zero knowledge of what I asked my reps and NC team for.

Third, Pay, and more recently, (3yrs), retro, have ALWAYS been a major part of the conversation. Ever since I was hired, before the merger with VX. They never took a back seat to anything nor should they.

Fourth, Alaska pilots have paid it forward for DECADES. You're GD right I want my cake and to eat it too. What's the effin point of cake if you can't eat it!?!?

Not one section of this TA should be a compromise. Our compromises are the reason we've had to shoot our load on scope.....in 2022.....25 years late....

You're new, I get it. You're stoked to get more than $150/hr. We've all been there. Believe me, enjoy that warm fuzzie because it fades quick.

could be 20-25% more with better rates. why sell yourself short? Why not good work rules AND respectable rates? I think a 12 CA is worth more than -$2 the inflated 2019 rate. Rates aren't they only thing lacking in this TA. It's just what we're talking about in this thread.

I appreciate your skepticism, vote no, it will likely make you feel better. I think September 2024, you will look back and say, “Finally, that turned out really, really good.” Plus you will always be able to say you voted no, when things aren’t going perfect on a given day at work.

Why only 20-25%?

Why not 30-35%? Or 40-45%? Or 70-75%?

Why not "if Horizon is getting 215, I better get 450!"

Heck it could be 110%-150% better! I hope you've offered up your superior negotiating skills to the union. BTW our rates beat ual TA and were also above the aal prelim numbers though I'm sure that's being re worked now that we set the bar higher.

How much more over $306 and the increases are you looking for? If you feel it should be $50 more, you’re in La la land.

So what, your willing to keep working under this crappy contract for an unknown amount of time, potentially a year or more for what, waiting out another $15-20 more an hr?

Meanwhile you’ll pass up potentially $200K+ more in income with the retro & new pay rates over 1-2yrs of waiting should it take that long.

Talk about tripping over a dollar to pick up a penny…

You know, I hope you're right. In the same sense, I hope your yes vote keeps you warm at night when you look back and realize we squandered our once in a career opportunity to, as Chickenlittle...whoops, I mean Chinkenfinger, would say, "have our cake and eat it too".

I've told my reps all they need to know. I don't negotiate in public. I'm here to say this thing has one too many compromises. Pay rates being JUST ONE OF THEM. Welcome to Alaska by the way. Glad to see you're enjoying it.

you sure about that? As of Dec 30 2022 their CA TOS rate would have been $309/hr. The FO rate looks like it was copied and pasted. Mirror image. So in 2.5 Months they would already been ahead. However, they found those numbers too embarrassing so the kicked it back. Nothing we wouldn't eat out of the trash for though...
