Not sure. Things change often. The initial plan was 24 right now and 12 in the fall. I think we will be doing much more than that with the airplanes coming online starting in august. But I do know the app window is going to open.

That sucks. Maybe you can email the recruiters and let them know the issue and see if you can take it again.

Has anyone run the numbers on time to upgrade based on retirements and projected aircraft additions?

Retirements are minimal. There were none this year and I believe none for 2015. I've heard there is one Age 65 guy in 2016. I wouldn't count on retirements here to move up the list. As for aircraft additions the *current* plan is 5 planes this year and 5 planes for 2016. Then we don't have any until the 30 NEOs from 2020-2022. This is subject to change and in all likeliness now that VX is a public company with better access to financial markets and leasing options rates, most likely there will be planes in the 2017-2019 timeframe. But currently the previous mentioned fleet plan is the only thing official. So going by that I'd say 2022 for a newhire today to upgrade = ~ 8 yrs.

Based on current orders and our staffing model the bottom 60-80 guys/gals currently on property will not be captains in 2022.

I honestly don't know why anyone would want to come here anymore.

Trips are getting worse!

QOL is getting worse!

Pay is quickly reaching the worst!

The only reason to come here now would be to get some Airbus experience to go somewhere better.

QOL does feel like its getting worse. It seems most guys are getting unproductive or non commutable trips.

The reserve system is worse than the regionals, but in Feb they are spending the entire month rewriting the system. Hopefully it works out. QOL sucks on reserve really really bad.
