Its also only for HQ folks which affect about 140 people. Not for pilots, flight attendants etc...

Hi folks,

I finally managed to score a job in the US and its the one I wanted.

I am now in the hold pool and apparently they will be running classes after summer. Cant wait.

My wife however has been bugging me for any info about staff travel.

Is there a waiting period before staff travel kicks? Do VX pilots get ID travel on Virgin Australia?

Thanks in advance,

P

Speaking of travel bennies, could someone share a list of the non-US airlines you ccan purchase ID90 or ZED with? Is it easy to use? For instance, I can book e-tickets and list on my ipad at the airport wifhout having to bother someone. Its suler useful. I would miss these benefits leaving my expat gig.

For travel there is a 31 day waiting period. Yes ZED standby tickets for Virgin Australia and Atlantic. We have most all big airlines except Delta and United. Asides from DL and UA, we have pretty much everyone you could want. Almost. Suppose to get Air Canada soon.

Nearly all of them are electronic tickets through myIDTravel. A few I think are still paper tickets like Korean Air. But electronic is bought, issued, and confirmation number all through myIDTravel. I once bought 3 tickets in Frankfurt at the airport using myIDTravel for FRA to Vancouver, Vegas, and Detroit. I got Detroit so right at the airport through myIDTravel I cancelled and processed refund for Vegas and Vancouver. Easy enough.

Downside is cost to use. 10/month = 120/yr

Travel benefits ? VXBenefits.com

Oicur12, are you the EK 330/340 CA who got hired here? Congrats! Hopefully classes soon in the Fall.

Question for any Virgin pilot who is familiar: As I type this message I confirmed that the pilot hiring window is indeed closed (the job for "pilot" is not available/doesn't come up when searched for on the VA website). For those who have applied when the hiring window was open (1st and 2nd quarter of this year) and who at the moment have not heard anything back, will we have to reapply when the window opens back up, or can we continue to update our profile by attaching updated resumes/cover letters to our application within the VA website?

I think your application it good for a year so you shouldn't have to re-apply.

I hope the window is not closed for too long, I heard we are losing two more fo's this month. Both around 5 or 6 months seniority.
