Your attitude sucks. I wonder how you made it through the interview?I hope you can fool the next guys. I'm sure you'll be much happier anywhere else. Please proceed without delay.

There are plenty of people who, for a variety of reasons (mostly family) are tied to their domicile. I salute them for putting their families first and not chasing the almighty buck.

If greed drives you, then go for it. Its nice to know there are some folks (I personally know several) who put the people they love ahead of the Benjamins.

In the PNW since the mid -90's. Gotta house, a mortgage, a wife with twenty years at her current job...
I like it out here. If I were a young buck with a fresh housewife and some ambition, sure, I'd strike out for the big three. But I'm not willing to put up with that sh*t anymore. I've passed the tipping point where QOL is more important than the W-2.
AS/QX may be small time for you younger, adventurous types, but it's a good fit for me and a lot of other guys. We'll try to make it a better place, if mgmnt. doesn't succeed in killing us in the meantime....

It is what it is. Just calling it the way I see it.
Mike, you are so predictable. You must've been a union volunteer. Two favorite phrases from you WDs: "If you don't like it, why don't you leave?" and "If you don't like it, why don't you volunteer?". You must've been one of those wimpy kids as a child who just grabbed your ball and cried home. Your avatar should be replaced with a vagina.

2loud, you're entitled to your opinions, but that's too damned whiney.

I always find it amazing how vehemently some guys will stand up for a corporation that doesn't give a sh$t about them. We have this same problem at NK.

It's ok to admit that _______ is currently a better/more favorable/higher paying place to work. That's how we raise the bar.

I also find it hilarious that Packrat takes precious time out of his day to come on the NK thread and lecture us about our substandard pay rates, only to come back to the AS thread and defend their substandard pay rates.

Wow. You might be the biggest hypocrite on APC. You condemned Multiple Spirit pilots for staying put due to QOL and here you are defending lackluster pay for just that?

Laughable

I came to Alaska because at the time, there was no other choice. I stayed after the Kasher slaughter because again, there was no other choice. No one was hiring...quite the opposite actually. Now that the big three are hiring like crazy? Alaska wouldn't even be on my radar if I was a young guy looking to make the jump up. It's a decent place to work,(only because I'm very senior and TOS) but our contracts will ALWAYS be sub standard. It's in the very DNA of this airlines culture that we be paid less than the big three. You'd think that we could at least be on par for domestic narrow body as that's all we fly but again, you'd be wrong. We MUST be paid less. That's the "Alaska way". It won't ever change. Just know that if you're hired here and decide to stay.
