Got this last night from my friend there:

Newsflash from Alaska HR:

The Hiring Outlook

Starting in April, we will resume interviews. Initially it will be about 8 a month and that will slow down the shrinking of the pool we have currently. The application process is changing as well. On the company website, under CAREERS, is a link to Talent Community. Prospective candidates should go on Talent Community and follow the instructions. We will pull candidates directly from the Talent Community and we will no longer have a mass application window. Talent Community will always be accessible to candidates interested in interviewing with us.

This is near the top of the career forum information page:

NOTE TO ATTENDEES RESERVING TO MEET WITH ALASKA AIRLINES: 2/3/16 - Owing to the high interest in "meet-and-greets" with Alaska Airlines, space is NOW limited in FRIDAY's guaranteed appointments to STAND-BY basis. Registered attendees may need to be flexible in schedule as meet-and greet priority for registered attendees will be extended in to SAT as well. If time allows you may be seen on FRIDAY if you are on site. Arriving on Saturday? Attendees may reserve for texting notification and registration will include admission to the event. Please stop at the Information Booth for your registration credentials/badge. There will be no registration onsite.

I don't know exactly what that means. What I'd like to know is where it was ever publicized that such a system was being used. I would have registered a whole lot earlier.

Has anyone put their stuff in with the Talent Community and NOT gotten a phone-screening call? Does that mean your resume has been passed over? I received an email basically stating "thanks for your resume, our Talent Community has received it," but never got a call.

I am in that boat.

The system has been a bit schizophrenic for me. For a while there I would log in and it would show the progress bar as being full (offer) and then other times it showed one dot (new). It's been one dot for a while and about a week ago I resubmitted and it shows both submissions.

So far, crickets...

Yep, I'm in that boat, too. I'd think that would be standard, and the phone screen would only be for the lucky few plucked out for an interview.

I submitted my stuff to the Talent Community about 5 weeks ago and got the invite for a phone screening yesterday. FWIW.

I just submitted a resume and cover letter. No video.

I will add that I don't believe my experience is all that competitive. (3,500 TT, 300 TPIC, no military) So, I have a feeling that this is perhaps a formality bestowed upon every applicant who meets the basic qualifications.
