Yes, according to SD (via conf call) it is true. With Alaska things can change drastically in a 12 hour period. With the vacancy bid being out (and closing June 24th) I expect that to hold true. He did say that hiring would continue thru the Fall and into next year. Again, things can change rapidly around here, but that's the plan as of today.

Does anyone know how soon they are starting classes this Fall from this next window? Or maybe a best guess?

I think the F.O. plug in PDX is running about 1.5 years.

SFO. You can change bases and equipment next bid after being hired.

PDX is going to be much longer than 1.5 years now. Lots of former Virgin pilots want it who haven’t had the opportunity to bid it.

SFO 320 & LAX 73/320 are and likely will be junior for some time. PDX will take 1.5 to 2 years, and for those getting SEA as a new hire, prepare to rise slowly. ANC is taking over a year and a half to get to as a new hire.

Junior upgrade is about 5 years, LAX. Even SEA is getting tougher as folks jump equipment to be home. Over 12 years here (CA) and I went downhill on this latest bid.

Our latest bid for 01NOV19 has classes essentially all summer, and a “likely” 31JAN20 bid will continue that through fall.

Until a long term fleet plan is decided and implemented, mild chaos shall prevail.

Attrition is elevated but manageable according to the powers that be. Retirements numbers are mild.

Great info, thanks! I was surprised there was no window in the spring for WAI. Curious how quick the turn around time will be for this July window.

A little confused about this latest application window. They wrote that if an application has been submitted there won't be any updates. Is this one window with three open times or actually there separate windows which can have a new application each time?
