If you want to see what real leadership looks like head over to the united section.

No furloughs until June when we will surely have a vaccine by.

They summed it up nicely in the following email. Yes here. This took some effort, and isn’t perfect...
”f your motivation in supporting this LOA is simply to keep all your fellow pilots on the property instead of cutting them loose in an abysmal job market and economic recession, we applaud your unionism. If you are not supportive of this LOA and feel that furloughs are just a career hazard, we ask you to consider if the entire pilot group would be better served long-term by ratifying this LOA. Are we stronger and more capable of defending our careers if we keep pilots in their pre-crisis seats? Does protecting all pilots on the seniority list and being ready for recovery position us better to complete Section 6 negotiations, or would it be better to pursue Section 6 negotiations with thousands of pilots on furlough?”

You guys go ahead keep pounding your chests then follow these inexperienced union leaders right off the cliff like a bunch of lemmings. The fact that so many of you are willing to throw our bottom pilots away so you can keep your pay and QOL speaks volumes about this classless pilot group.
If a government leader told you to blindly follow orders and not question authority you would lose it, yet your union leaders tell you that and you stand "in unity". The brainwashing is amazing. They take your money and give you absolutely nothing in return. Our dues are higher than everyone else yet management keeps wiping their butts with our contract. We have a handful of arbitration wins. Big deal. All that did was get back a few things they stole from us years ago before many of us even worked here. This union is completely reactionary. They have no vision. Them just now asking for financials is an f'in joke. Nate nailed it: they were certain of another bailout that didn't come. Oops. That's a major tactical error. Now 200 pilots are going to lose their jobs and hundreds more downgrade and get displaced. All because of a lack of vision and a failure to see this dire situation for what it is. And none of you care. You just keep making fun of anyone who dissents and call us management or scabs. No we are line pilots who are being held hostage between an evil and desperate management group and an incompetent union. Any CEO who tells you not to question authority and just wait and see results that never come would be fired in an instant in the corporate world. Why do you all keep drinking the union koolaid and blindly supporting these clowns? Because it fulfills your selfish needs. The ugly truth is none of this effects you so you don't care and you hide behind the union.
Stay classy.

I can only speak for myself but I’m happy with what the union is doing. I’ll go on my merry way for my third furlough and hope things get better at some point. Then when I get recalled I’ll actually want to come back because this job will not suck. Gut the contract and I’m out.
In regards to the ETO you’re just missing the point. If pilots bid for ETO and there are no reductions in furlough numbers then what’s the point in anyone taking a pay cut.
I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time talking to you. It’s clear you’re either management or someone that is so misinformed and inexperienced you have no idea what you’re talking about.
If you are one of the 100 I suggest you get busy finding a job or based on your attitude so far I guess it would be getting busy filling out unemployment paperwork. You seem like the kind of pusssy that wants someone else to make sacrifices so you don’t have to...

I have NEVER said we should agree to concessions - check all my posts. I have been consistent in that it is inexcusable that we don't have a VOLUNTARY ETO program. We've all seen the actual proposals passed and the voluntary ETO would have absolutely helped avoid furloughs and preserve QWL.

I am not one of the 100-300 that are on the chopping block. But I am somebody that is almost certainly going to be squeezed out of my base or downgraded which is enough. I am sorry you are staring at the street, I would happily take a VOLUNTARY ETO to preserve my QWL and our most junior pilots avoid a furlough. Unfortunately, we don't have that option. While airlines are finalizing deals to mitigate or avoid all furloughs and displacements, our obstinate management and inexperienced EXCO are just starting to talk seriously about a VOLUNTARY ETO program.
