100% not true. Retention bonus does not go away. Teamcare would end, but it wouldn’t vanish overnight. There would be a transition into whatever the company provides for other employee groups.

That's Teamcare.

Other employee groups also have Teamcare - they have different tiers to choose from. It's a good product. Having said that, there's nothing magical about "Teamcare". It's BCBS.

If it’s Teamcare great, I genuinely don’t know what everyone else has. I always assumed you had to be part of Teamsters to be eligible for Teamcare. If not, even better.

You do. The benefits are extended to other employee groups as a result of the pilots affiliation.

Guess everybody would be changing then, which was really my point from before. Teamcare or not, the company will offer everyone some type of healthcare option. We would be no different.

Think about it - if "Agreements/LOA's/MOU's between the company & Teamsters are invalid", then that means our entire CBA also goes away?
Doesn't work that way.
Well Actshually...

You would lose Teamcare. The Team in Teamcare is Teamsters. You'd have to go back on the company plan which sucks about the same as every other airline's plan sucks. Teamcare was the best thing about working there. I miss the insurance and some of the people and not much else.

Teamsters self insures through plan premiums. BCBS just administers the plan. Allegiant switched other groups because it's cheaper for them that way.

There are certain other benefits not affiliated with BCBS. For example, free imaging (MRI, CT, PET) when you used their approved vendor. Also free labs when you use Quest. Dental and eyecare are average. One benefit we lost switching to Teamcare is adult orthodontics.

The company in the past has claimed we wouldn't necessarily lose them, maybe the rebranded teamcare we would, but i think we would lose the group rate, ie the cost to the company would go up.

Well the million + $$$ me and every other pilot has lost would be more than enough to cover the difference
