If you have PIC or mil time sure. Less than 5000 with only FO time? That's a harder sell. Not impossible but Mil or PIC will put you at the top of list.

There are G4 FO’s under 3000 hours and no PIC time sitting on CJO’s from legacies. Personally know a couple.

2500TT and around 1000 121 time sees to be the magic number. It’s not as easy as 3 years ago when you just needed a pair of lungs and an ATP. Key now is networking and going to those conventions. Recently did a number of rec letters for some amazing FOs. Mostly for AA and SWA.

Wherever the FO's are going, Delta, United, American or la la Land, everyone has to make their own choices with the information they have at that point in time. I wish everyone a warm farewell, tailwinds and a prosperous career. Everyone has their own line in the sand.

Many of us will remain bc we made G4 our choice career and we know that we will get a contract that will have great improvements from the current (First) one. It won't be Delta, United, or some cliche of industry standard. But it will definitely surpass our ULCC peers by a lot in many ways, and in other ways it might not. What matters is that the needle be moved in this place in the right direction, and not try to believe we can just leapfrog EVERYONE into becoming Delta/United on day trips; that's ludicrous!

Next thing that G4 pilots should be looking forward to, striving and hoping for is to have proper representation and good leadership, beginning January 1st. This absolutely is a fresh start since TA ratification in 2016. 2026 will be a good and interesting year for G4, and G4 pilots.

Merry belated Christmas my friends, and happy new year.

Yes each has to do what they feel best for themselves, but without a contract that is good enough to recruit and retain pilots this place will not have a way to grow going forward. Even those that want to stay should be worried about can G4 survive another mass exit of pilots. Lots of pilots can see the numbers that are planed to get hired this year and a lot are hoping to be at the front of that hiring. If G4 does not have a TA by March the list of pilots trying to go will just increase. If that TA is not good the younger will just leave and at best G4 will just be an FO training ground for the others.

That sounds very well thought out. Also, it sure makes a lot of sense. However...Allegiant MGMT is absolutely aware of this. Look at the state of other ULCCs. I don't think they are worried about filling seats at the moment.

I would agree they are currently not worried but they should be. We have never been like an ULCC that relied on high volume travel routes, being cheap enough to undercut the big guys on same big city to big city routes. The problem with the Frontier and Spirits companies are with everyone doing the pay for more amenities the basic economy fares the legacy guys publish is competitive, with better reliability, networks and brands. The legacy also has a more buy up options for more services than the ULCC model has. Currently at G4 most people fly us because it is the most convenient option with a direct flight. Some would likely go for a better brand if that was available.

Hiring numbers are always subject to change but seem like the top 4 or 5 carriers currently plan hiring 4000-6000 pilots combined in 2026. That will put stress on the lower tier companies for Pilots with even marjinal levels of experience. How many pilots in the FO ranks does it take before allegiant doesn't have a talent pool of pilots with the experience to upgrade? The Same FO's that will be competitive to leave are those same pilots. Some of those Junior pilots upgrading are doing so to try and get another box to check to leave.
