PGD is probably the most junior base in the company. Things move quickly and one class there may be 4 AB to SFB or PIE and then nothing for months. AB goes senior and PGD is AB only so have to have some age to help you get to the bus at least. The 80 is completely different. You could probably get PIE or SFB right out of training. There were plenty of 80 PIE slots left after my class but like I said, things change fast.

More stupid questions. I have an interview lined up and I am interested if I receive an offer. Yet its my understanding that you do not know where you will be based until half way through training??
Most places and schedules are not commuter friendly and I am open to moving to about 60% of the bases.
I just can't justify moving my family to some place we don't want to live, and then move again in 6 months as things change. Is that really how it works??
No idea where you will end up????
I know that is how most airlines operate but at least most airlines make commuting an option.

Don't worry that much about bases, by the time you are done training you should be able to re-bid to wherever you need based on your fleet... especially in Florida. If you want a small base like BLI or OAK you might need to wait it out a while in Florida. Keep in mind if you bid the 80 you might want to be comfortable living in SFB or LAS, since eventually that will be their only domiciles.

Thank you for the reply. I would actually like to get the 80 out of LAS. I heard that may be tough though.

It's easy, it's has become the most junior or second most junior -80 base. Pretty much guaranteed unless you get an all Airbus class or get Jr manned to the 757.

You will know your base and aircraft by the Friday of the week you start training.

You can probably know even sooner. On day one they should give you the list of what's open. Our class passed around a sheet of paper where everyone put their name, age, and desired equip/domicile. By the end of day one, we had an un-official list and you knew where you stood.
