I just finished the Video Interview and thought I would leave the latest and greatest gouge for your guys:
8 x Questions
5 min to think about each question
4 min max answer time (speaking)
3 x attempts to record the "version" you want to keep
My Questions:
1.Whats your base preference? What will you do if you don't get it?
2.Whats your work history? Any gaps?
3.Any failed checkrides? If so explain.
4.Any accidents/incidents/FAA letters?
5.How do you prepare for training?
6.What was one of your most challenging flights?
7.Have you interviewed at Allegiant before? If so what brings you back?
8.Closing comments etc.
Very straightforward and painless. I think it's a great way for any company to get to know a candidate before the face-to-face.

If you get the bus you will get FLL quickly, if you're in the November class... I wouldn't count on it.
However, if you do get the -80 or the 757 I would expect you can bid off before the 24 month lock is up. The 757's will be gone by end of next year and the -80's will fizzle rapidly. If you do get the -80 you will only ever be able to be based in LAS and possibly SFB or VBD once you get 4-6 months seniority.
The -80 is a great aircraft so don't be scared and the schedules in SFB and LAS are the most comprehensive in the system. QOL for commuters sucks but overall QOL and pay in these bases remains very high.

My question is who the hell is going to voluntarily bid those 14 MD80 VBD CA slots?! Will these fall extremely junior?

Seniority within your new hire class is determined by the last 4 digits of your social security number with low numbers winning. Some classes are all bus, some are all MD some are a mixture. The Bus typically goes senior in the class.

If you come here with a bus type rating, expect to be in a bus class but DO NOT expect to get your $7000 bonus. That's a CBA violation and will not be honored.

Most new hires will get the bus, a few -80's in the December class perhaps and a slim chance of more 757's in the spring if we don't park them as scheduled. At Least 14 new hires each month next year, expect about 75% to be on the bus.
