They don't seem to be hamstrung by arrogance, ancestor worship and the whole "It Wasn't Invented Here" mentality.

One of the things I dislike about the structure of ALPA is exactly what Trinity pointed out. OAL ALPA execs will be coaching our reps on what is best for our airline. No thank you. I don't care for external forces meddling in my business. We are better off with less bureaucracy.

Incumbent base reps are being re-elected, usually without any opposition. It appears that most pilots at AA could care less. Hope you like these work rules!

I could not agree more. The one great thing is the "third listers or BTL'ers" are a very tight knit group. We will eventually get these guys out.

This is a fact.

It's what I am concerned about as well.....

ALPA won't solve anything-if we keep electing the same retarded ass hats who gave us this crapfest of a contract.

I was at another ALPA regional for longer.

APA is way, way worse.

We would have industry standard (at least) work rules if those bastards had not gone to extremes to hose their own dues-paying members.

^ ^ ^

Can we please make huge posters of this statement and hang it in every crewroom?

Not to derail the conversation, but you just made one helluva argument for federalism....

^^^^^^^^THIS!!

This is the most frustrating thing. Election after election, the same names keep showing up to the table. How many base reps ran unopposed over the last couple of years? It's a hypothetical question and the answer is WAAAAAY too many.

Hell, the CLT rep (who ran unopposed) couldn't even be bothered to stay for the last day of the last meeting (which he dropped trips and was paid for). He was on a flight a 7 am and failed to leave a proxy with anyone. He's violated multiple union directives about Scheduling notifications and deadheads and then pens a blast stating what he did and then proceeds to blame others.

That's on all of our heads!

If only the 10th Amendment wasn't being run roughshod over. But this is the wrong forum.
