As they used to say many years ago, "At the airport do not greet a friend by saying 'Hi Jack' even if you know him."

We now return to our regularly scheduled topic.

Would somebody please explain the presidents recent message. Why would new hires care about LOS for pilots furloughed after 9/11? I was furloughed after 9/11 and I even think the unions position is nuts! I want a decent quality of life for what remains of my career. Min day, improved rigs etc, help all pilots and will help attract new ones. Are these guys blind or just plane/plain stupid?

Exactly. I just read it and was scratching my head. New hires could care less about LOS. Min calendar day on the other hand, that's an issue.

Sounds like APA has dug their heels in on this issue and so has the company. We can kiss min calendar day good bye until the next contract.

While I don't think the issue crosses the mind of AA applicants, it does benifit new hires, in the sense that if they get furloughed, it'd be in the contract and would benefit them when they come back.

I'm for it, and don't believe that LOS and min calendar day have to be mutually exclusive. I actually think LTD (and Short term too) is way more important than both of those issues.

"We can kiss min calendar goodbye until the next contract"

Who says we are going to get it in the next contract?

Well whether or not we get in the next contract is up to us and to be determined.

I was saying getting it as a management handout like profit sharing and the pay raise is not going to happen now.

.
Not really. Do you think any of these agreements matter if we go into bankruptcy and have furloughs again? Doubtful.

This is a push for a small group at the expense of the entire pilot group.

Just a little thing called...unity

I am surprised to see a lot of people on here, who constantly complain about how senior pilots ruined the industry, how QOL items matter, how all they care is money and themselves

Then when the union puts some unity together, same people complain they are not getting "theirs"

####'ing pilots.
