I would guess domestically it starts to bounce as soon as the vaccine is widely available. International will most likely take longer as a country will want a good chunk of their population vaccinated before relaxing restrictions.

Will we have a vaccine when Trump is re elected or is it only if Biden wins?

Either way. This is not a conspiracy theory. The whole world didn’t destroy their economies to hurt Trump.

Yeah, exactly. And making this crises a political issue is what got us to this point in the first place. Had Trump and a certain news channel not spent months calling it a liberal hoax and actually took aggressive measures, we would be in a very different place right now. Look at just about any other country as an example. South Korea and Vietnam in particular, but also most of Europe.

As for Nostradamus Gary Kelly..who knows what his motivations are for saying what he says. But he doesn't know any more than the rest of us what will happen next week let alone 10 years from now. Most actual professionals in the area and anyone else with common sense agree that a vaccine will go miles towards making people feel comfortable with public places again. Including air travel.

I can't even begin to imagine what angle Kelly is playing, but be sure there is an angle.

Nice attempt on that. Recall Nancy Pelosi and Governor Cuemo and Mayor Deblasio calling Trump a racist for the China ban? Then encouraging people to go out and celebrate the holiday at that time? So if you want to pass blame that is fine. However do it to all parties equally. This isn’t a one sided blame game as you above claim. Just to get facts straight.

I’d say the truth is somewhere in between that certain news channel and a CNN.

Gary Kelly isn’t as labor friendly as his predecessor that’s for sure.

Yeah but CEOs of public companies don’t generally make such long term bearish comments just to screw over labor groups at the cost of their forward looking earnings guidance.

Well yeah a vaccine drives down cases and lowers hospitalizations people will feel more comfortable. More importantly businesses will feel more comfortable and travel restrictions should end making businesses in NY able to release their employees again.

It seems to me Gary Kelly will benefit greatly from a quick turnaround on the tail end of this. Maybe he's trying to put the competition on it's heels to get a head start when that happens. Or maybe he realizes the economy is going to crumble after taking 2020 off.

More than 3 billion dollars have been invested into a vaccine by the US government. Know who heads that government? It's almost like they are putting their money where their mouth isn't.

You're saying that if the president wins re-election, his own government is going to act like the work put in by the 3 billion they smartly invested achieved nothing. The company who will become infinitely successful will throw away their research because they don't like the president.

We are living in special times, folks.
