Question. So why did we get an email yesterday saying that they voted for option B, and now today they voted for option A?
Never seen a more pro management union. |
TTS 2.0 yes? No? I’m confused. I think the intent of 2.0 is to cut down on pilots trading amongst groups formed within particular 3 part bid statuses. Also to discourage the use of third party bidding programs and influencers. LightSaber for instance. Senior pilots not willing to fork over money to play the game are envious of junior people who are savvy and able to get primo trips that would Normally go to senior pilots. In a perfect world APA would run a LightSaber type app that everyone could use. AA won’t let them because you have to give them your password and that is against AA policy. They can’t stop anyone from giving a password to a third party but they can stop APA from getting it.
They are trying to make it fair. I don’t care one way or the other. I never use TTS. Now it looks like I will have to. the moral of the story is we all want more liberal trip trading to better our schedules. Will 2.0 fix it? I doubt it. The only way would be make every trip green. That is not happening. |

I'm glad the union is saving me from this future horror by thrusting a bigger one on me now. |

Of course this only comes out AFTER everyone has already bid for ZTLs. |
I thought that TTOT still remaining on was just a bandaid to hold us over until TTS 2.0 was implemented ? And doing away with TTOT is something that the APA membership votes on and ratified as part of LBFO2? If that’s correct I don’t see how this is a shock to anyone on property. They have been talking about it for years. This may not be correct but this is my understanding of it all as an airways guy.

The most shocking thing about everything that has happened recently is how in a matter of months we at AA went from being the envy of the industry with our LOAs back in April, to the laughing stock of it now.
Other Airlines and their unions are watching as APA blatantly tells 2500 pilots they're not worth saving. They're not important enough. Other airlines are bending over backwards to save their pilots from furlough. Or as many as possible at the least. APA? Let's throw 2500 (or as many as it takes) pilots on the street rather than risk our senior pilots "only" make $25k a month vs $28k. There needs to be a serious reckoning of APA after all this dust settles. |

Ex Us Airways/America West guys feel free to chime in. But I see a very disturbing pattern emerging.
When up against the wall, Doug Parker is likely to panic and revert to his old trusted ways. Sure, Vasu talked a big game. But he's old AMR and saw first hand how bad decisions work. He most likely is on one page while Parker is on another. Doug is feeling the squeeze, and it won't be long before we see him dust off his old playbook. Not because it works but because it's familiar to him: Shrink to profitability. Bankruptcy. Attempted mergers. Rinse and repeat as many times as needed. Basically he will turn AA into Us Airways circa 2007. A larger mid size domestic airline with token international routes. APA better wake up. They're going to learn what it means to sink or swim together. They're selling out a large chunk of our pilot group now, but soon it'll be their precious senior wide body pilots getting bent over without even the courtesy of lube. |
How many airlines has Doug Parker taken through Chapter 11?
Zero. |
The tinfoil hatred hysteria has gone up exponentially on all the AA boards the last few weeks, yowza
