Ah, yes. Because everyone KNOWS where stocks are going ahead of time.
You did the research; you stated that American's toast. Yet you're not willing to put your money where your mouth is. That's what separates you and I. I have shorted stocks that I've been sure are going to dive. It hasn't always worked out, but I've made a small fortune shorting stocks. I conclude that you're all hat, no cattle. Post when you're actually willing to put your money on the line. Until then, you're just a stupid poser.
As the general would say, tata for now.

Being in trouble does not mean they are about to file bankruptcy. And in trouble they are.
Your stock market comments and wanting me to buy derivatives are just laughable so I will leave it at that.

Low? That’s judged relative to similar stocks. Here is the Delta comparison:

and here are the stats for SWA:

So who is the outlier in the group?

Talk is very cheap. Until one puts their nutz on the line, it's all just bluster.
IF American files, I'm sure you'll post how you 'called it'. However, you will have had nothing on the line.
Dera and you are cut from the same cloth. All hat, no cattle.
I shorted Countrywide, Downey, and other financials before the 2008 collapse. I put my nutz on the line. And made a small fortune. I could have been wiped out had my call been incorrect.
I've made many financial calls over the years. It's easy to make the calls; it's an entirely different thing to put your nutz on the line. I doubt that you have ever put your nutz on the line and I think the same of dera. All hat, no cattle.

Anyone still doubt that General Lee has taken over Andy's account? Immature jokes about testacles repeated several times. Texas cliches about hats and cattle. Calling people losers/posers. And how has someone with only 3900 posts since 2006 suddenly started posting 20 times a day? Hell he even referenced The General. Welcome back General.
Maybe the owners of this site felt like they weren't getting enough clicks. Most of us always thought FI supported The General and his antics for that reason but unfortunately that also led to the site's downfall since it became boring and unreadable with nothing but insults and useless information hurled in every thread by the same 5 people.
I'm just gonna sit back and watch this play out.

We just recently hired someone who's 63. So there's a chance.

You know what's funny, General? All of us are playing puppet games on here. For all you know, I actually work for the same airline you do.
(And notice I said airline not Air Line. As I told you sometime back in the mid 2000s there's no way you're really a Delta pilot.)

C'mon put your apps in. Maybe you could end up on a WB and have hot fudge sundaes on your breaks when you're flying international.

No, you're definitely a G4 lifer who wallows in self-pity. And I am definitely not general lee. But it is fun to play with your cranium case.

Dude, it's nothing personal. I'm just a very sarcastic SOB.
I usually pick up a decent amount of open time, but have dialed back the last month so I've got a lot of free time on my hands. I guess I'll have to fly more. Not to worry; the rest of my month is fairly busy.
I find it very funny that you'd even think I'm GL. That's pretty darned humorous.

Although American has a propensity for bankruptcy and furloughing, I do not foresee that as a feasible executive strategy in this current labor market.
The labor demands combined with the massive amount or retirement and growth in the industry, seems to make this an unlikely outcome.
The only concern would be bankruptcy as an opportunity for American to downsize its workforce and fleet which in that case would certainly warrant furlough or more likely reduced hiring demand.
I personally don't foresee American slowing down or reducing the size of their fleet.
