It certainly increases the chances, I could see AAL using chapter 11 to restructure the debt and become even more of a domestic/LA centric airline (park the 777s) and maybe even get rid of a hub or two. I don’t think they’d come after pilot wages in the process due to the shortage.

Unfortunately due to being at the edge of stagflation (not hyperinflation just yet) too big to fail free printing will no longer be an option. Once we hit the March 15th FOMC meeting all loans will also not going to be 0%APR. The only way to stay alive is profitability.

Historically speaking, EVERY 50% rise in crude has led to a recession since the 1970s.

That CNBC factoid is incorrect. Oil prices doubled in 2011 and 2018 without triggering a recession.
