I mean just look at the obvious here and who he is targeting. He throws numbers out there in terms of how much someone at the top of the pay scale will make. He’s trying to brainwash the old guys that have a couple years left to vote yes (no matter what) to get this deal done now. The guys that are near retirement don’t care about the work rules or the future of the AA pilot QOL, all they want is to make more money before they hit 65. I think getting the Delta pay rates are great, but work rules are important as well. Definitely don’t settle for just one of those things.

Hi everyone, Delta’s Pilots recently ratified a new for your deal that it is unprecedented in the history of collective bargaining, profoundly changing the economics of Delta’s pilot career; and that’s not just for Delta’s pilots, that deal with determine compensation benefits, and quality of life for pilot across the rest of the industry. That means something extraordinary for American’s Pilots. That’s because our commitment, my commitment, remains unchanged; Our team members, including our pilot will be paid well, and they will be paid competitively.
Let me be clear, American is prepared to match Delta pay rates and provide American’s pilots with the same profit-sharing formula as Delta’s pilots. American pilot’s would receive pay increases of an average 21% in the first year of the new contract; Begin participation in a much richer profit sharing program and receive a bump in the companies annual contribution to your 401(k) in a second year of the deal. The total pay increase for pilots on average is 40% in the fourth year of the deal. Let me give you a few examples of what this would mean by the end of the agreement, factoring in base salary and increase 401(k) contributions from the company; a narrow body, captain at the top of the scale would make $475,000 a year or $135,000 more a year than they do today. A widebody Captain of the top of the scale order in $590,000 a year that’s $170,000 more a year than they earn today; and participation in the new profit-sharing program will increase the payout pool from 5% of pretax earnings too 10%, and up to 20% earnings about $2.5 billion.
And it’s not just about Delta pay, it’s about making sure this works for American’s Pilot. You would see significant improvements to scheduling related and quality of life items. That means improved trip construction, and more certainty when it comes to replacement flying and recovery obligation.
A deal like this would be a game changer for our pilots. It would be worth more than $7 billion in incremental compensation, benefits, and quality life improvements over the term of the four year agreement. This would allow you to join Delta’s pilots is the industries leader’s in pay, but with more quality of life improvements unique to American Airlines. It’s what you deserve and it can be negotiated and made available quickly. Like you I’m extraordinarily excited about the coming new contract and all that it means for you and American.
As we proceed down the negotiation homestretch, I plan to reach out frequently, share updates and make sure you have the company’s perspective and our unequivocal commitment to completing a new contract expeditiously. I want to assure you that there’s no question of our intent; That is we want you to be paid as well as your peers. We want you to have the quality life and benefits the matter most to you and we don’t want you to have to wait, Now lets get this deal done.
Thanks for listening and thanks for all you do every day.

Isom is creepy. That AA sweater thing is just weird.
Here is my translation. Delta continues to kick our ass. 15 resignations in last two weeks leaving for greener pastures. You will get the money but forget about the QOL issues and retro pay. You pilots are a bunch of suckers. Ha Ha. My friend Mr. Parker left the Chairman of the board and now I may actually have to perform or get let go. Let’s try rule #1 from “Confessions of a Union Buster”. Negotiations directly with the line swine. Release to the press so everyone thinks we are greedy and our wives peruse the Tiffany’s catalog. He hates every one of us. Don’t forget it.
I maintain my steadfast belief. Contract 2025.

I'm flying extra safe. Diligent walk arounds, asking to taxi at an appropriate speed, completing checklist and following SOP. reassignments and deadheads are fatiguing events and I'm using all tools and guides that are available to me to assess my level of fitness..
I've had 4 73s with oil leaks this past week. When the mechanic tried to tell me they were fuel, i went out, put my hand out under the cowling.. 4 planes had to be removed from service. Unfortunately not all the captains I fly with are not on the same page, and flying as though we on a mission.
Isoms statements last night have only increased my need to be diligent out on the line and fly our passengers as safely as possible and not be distracted by the labor negotiations.

As much as I enjoy the generational banter (and me mostly making fun of my own gen), I'm gonna miss the older crowd that is retiring this decade. We need their experience, especially in matters of labor relations and history. I'm worried with a surge in pilots on quick paths to legacies that they (we) are not equipped to recognize the tactics we are seeing now and will see in the future.

I really hate how he talks about top pay and top WB pay. Most of the pilot group is not at top pay, and not all of will be or want to be wb captains. That is a misunderstanding that management has. I'm more concerned with my current life now, not my possible life in 12 years or 20 years..

It works both ways and I think when we look at it overall, they have been more of a hindrance than a help to our ongoing contract negotiations. I have flown with many CAs who have deep grudges against this Union and willfully and proudly ignore Union guidance (i.e. picking up OT, Floating, etc.). "The Union wasn't there for me back in XXXX so I don't give a #@$% what they want me to do now". Those grudges need to retire out of this pilot group. We are in a different world.
