Hey folks. I guess I passed the video interview as I'm scheduled to interview end of Aug as a new OTS mil guy.. Any idea how long it will take new hires to get DFW? (months or is it years?) Should I start looking at crash pads in Miami if I am fortunate enough to get the CJO? Thanks so much!

The most junior guy I see in a quick scroll through the 320 at DFW is a 24 JUL 2015 hire. I'm not sure when he held the status, but that's not too bad. I have no idea how SLI will affect base seniority though.

Junior DFW FO on the three n/b fleets are all March-April new hires.
Past performance is no guarantee of future performer. ;-)
More LUS guys into DFW, vs LAA guys that want into PHX or CLT, will cause delays getting into DFW. No one knows the answer to who, or how many, want to transfer between the post SLI available bases. So it might be three months, it might be two years. With more than 1,000 retirements in the next two years I doubt it will take two years.

DFW to MIA is perhaps the busiest base to base commute. It allows DFW pilots(senior) access to perhaps the most junior base in the company (MIA).
Post SLI movement, and accelerating retirements, will create new dynamics.

While I agree that it will remain one of the senior bases, CLT will probably not have the draw that DFW has simply because international flying will be limited from CLT. If a guy wants to stay on the 320 or possibly the 737 for the rest of their career then yeah, CLT will remain senior in that category. Any WB flying will likely be uber-senior simply because it'll be a fairly small base for that.
MIA may trend a little more senior since there are a lot of LUSers that live in Florida and commute to CLT. PHX guys will likely migrate to LAX and DFW mostly, although a few may scatter out to some of the other bases. For those who live in or near PHX, that base may provide some opportunity until they can hold DFW.
All a guessing game at this point though...except NYC and PHL will probably remain very junior simply because of the weather and cost of living.

Interesting, the bottom guys went up over 350 numbers on the LAA list. Friend hired in March jumped 350(+/-). Planned retirements was closer to 110(??). 98 in 2015 and 119 in 2016. Seniority list year is July 1 - June 30. So half of 2015 and 2016 would make the expected number closer to 110(??)???
