I sense sour grapes from the Delta contributors...
A FREE word of wisdom. Don't involve your money, or emotions for that matter, in OTHER peoples business. If you cannot VOTE in my county, then stay out of MY district..

Yes I am a West pilot. If you read the transcripts as you said you did then you would know that the MOU was presented differently to the West and the East. That was admitted by your own counsel during the trial and acknowledged by Silver. However it wasn't enough to trigger her definition of a DFR. You are right the West lawyers screwed up.

But that doesn't make your position righteous. No more sour grapes here. Doesn't help anything. Good luck with your remaining 16 years. Hope we can all recoup some of the staggering financial losses suffered over the last decade. The temptation is to wish financial ill upon the East but that would just hurt the West pilots, for whom i have great respect, as well. So best of luck to you.
You could have saved us a bunch of time by saying that in the beginning. If YOU read the transcripts, then you know that the AOL leaders knew exactly what the MOU said and meant and that they were advising you to vote for it for reasons other than it's purpose. The west tried to trick F it, it's a clear as day.

Do you guys ever look in the mirror? Do you ever question AOL and it's leaders? Do you ever think that maybe, just maybe you should have given Wye River a chance? I have 27 years of dealing with this pilot group that makes me believe that you could have had the Nic in place for as little as a 5 year fence. No, you guys fought for Nic or nothing, unaltered. So be it.

I have tremendous respect for my group too. I have tremendous respect for some west pilots. I got to know one of the C18 and would put him up there with any pilot, anywhere.

Your comment about a "lonely cockpit" seemed like a thinly veiled threat. Is that how you meant it? If your group deserves the respect you give it, it will leave this at the cockpit door.

There is still a chance to salvage something from this. The SLI protocol has not been set. If the west would stop listening to AOL and listen to more just like Mitch Vasin, then maybe we can do something for all of us.

You can type in all CAPS but that doesn't make it true. The ruling itself admits USAir East misrepresented the meaning of 10(h) in the MOU, so don't act like West agreed to drop Nic because they approved the MOU.
Again, you have the floor. Have your read the transcripts from the case? They clearly show the AOL leaders knew what the MOU was about.

Yeah, brakechatter has a clue.

Send Marty your money!!

"the West Pilots claim USAPA breached its duty of fair representation by “abandoning the existing obligation to use the Nicolau Award.” For present purposes, the Court will assume such an obligation existed."~~ Judge Silver, page 10, line 17
DFR III will not succeed on an implicit assumption that USAPA has an obligation to use the Nic. Do you have at least one document stipulating that USAPA must use the Nic? Just one? No.

No threats intended. I don't threaten people on anonymous message boards. I don't think the Wye river had any chance of a successful outcome. The only outcome the east would accept was straight date of hire. That hasn't changed since day 1. Just because you or your MEC chairman at the time were reasonable doesn't mean the masses would have accepted anything less than your "gold standard." In fact you haven't changed as a group since the first UAL merger or the years before when local alpa meetings devolved into fist fights in the parking lot.

I imagine the west pilots you've flown with have been professional and courteous out of a sense of self respect. They are professional aviators and don't let their emotions get the best of them in the cockpit. But don't take that to mean they have forgotten how badly they have been f#cked by USAPA. No pilot could/would ever forget that.

And no matter how friendly you are as a East captain there will always be that gulf dividing you from the right seat. Your group re-negged on an agreement and severely damaged the other group. That's not a threat it's just going to be a fact of life going forward. Can you envision any other dynamic?

As your east brethren retire it might not be the most warm and fuzzy work environments going forward. Of course I could be wrong and the West could collectively realize that it was in their best interests all along to be stapled by a few thousand furloughed east pilots who had no hope of ever being recalled...

Bottom line is Silver solved nothing. The Mou is "neutral" regarding east/west seniority and her order follows nothing has changed. The west will have to wait until usapa proffers a list other than Nic to go to court. Now my personal opinion is the apa, working with the company, will give the west a seat to protect itself.

You're not very bright, are you? Just keep ****ing money away at a losing cause. It's your money. If you want to keep wasting it, that's your choice. There is no one left on your side. Parker, APA, USAPA, and the court system are all moving on while you guys keep wasting money and fighting. You will not win. It is what it is. Just move on and be thankful you will have a job with solid seniority at one of the big 3.
