Thats definitely a fair point, and I agree. Saying there is no growth planned, however, is not really truthful when the main obstacle to growth on the 77, and 73, has been staffing. That problem is now fixed, and the volume of hiring would suggest that they plan on growing those fleets. Completely agree that new hires today should expect to be in the right seat longer than someone hired 3-4 years ago. This place has enough problems without the constant exaggeration and dramatization of the “facts.” 30 people who started class this week who might otherwise be out of a job are going to be able to keep their house, feed their families, so posts like the one I responded to come off as very tone deaf.

There's really no way to tell but at least the Atlas/Southern SLI is a relatively straight forward deal compared to other airlines. 2 fleets on either side that both are in desperate need of staffing replenishment. Most of the pilots on both lists were hired after the merger was announced so they'll most certainly all be DOH. The biggest problem I suppose is having junior captains on the 737 sitting in seats that could go to a more senior Atlas pilot. It wouldn't be fair to bump anyone from their existing seat so that most certainly will be a beef for some. However with the growth expected and if nothing else the severe staffing shortage on the 73s I imagine any injustices from the SLI will be fixed pretty quickly.

But yeah any new hire today is taking a gamble on upgrades, as anywhere. I suppose anyone coming in the doors in the last couple months should just be thankful to be at an airline with any upgrades at all.

Thats BS.
You can break $100k gross in year two as an FO.
I did.

So one says 10yr upgrade and less than 100k and another says 4 yr upgrade and 2 yr to 100k.

I’m confused a bit, but maybe the more reasonable average expectation is somewhere in the middle? I don’t know, I’m just trying to process the data given..

We've only had one vacancy award this year. The most junior CA award on it was a little over 3.5 years. However, with the fact that we're about to have a merged seniority list, it is anyone's guess as to what that number will look like in the future. It is not impossible to break 100k on your second year on the 747 (so I have heard). However, in 4 years on the 767 I have never made more than 84k.

I’m not 100% sure where the upgrade is at these days. Would have to look at our last vacancy. My educated guess would be around 4 years on the 767. It is possible to make north of 100K a year as an FO. Without working open time it would take a little bit though. Just take a look APC for the pay scale. 62 hour guarantee after probation.

How much should Someone expect the first 3-4 years as an FO on the 73?. Being realistic

I never broke $85k in 5 years of the right seat of the 767. I imagine 100k is doable working hard in the 747. Meaning no sick, no vacation, training on days off, and flying a little extra. With gateway travel days, home 11 days a month recovering from jet lag.

62 x 100 x 12 = $74,400

I never broke $125,000 in 3 years of the left seat of the 767.

Expect guarantee. Anyone who comes to Atlas/Southern who "needs" to make more than minimum guarantee to make ends-meat is setting themselves up for failure.

Not trying to be harsh, unhelpful, or even to deter you from coming here.
I'm not saying that it's impossible to make more. Not right now. But no one has any idea what the future of the US / World economy looks like. I have always budgeted for guarantee. Anything above that is just a pleasant surprise.

One is predicting his gloomy outlook, and one is giving you current reality. YMMV. The experiences apparently vary based on fleet, base, where you live, any probably also on if you’re a toxic, negative person to begin with.
