I had one internal rec and took the test a couple of weeks ago. Nothing yet. I'm sure the call will come soon.

Hello there Fellow Aviators,

First off let me say a huge thank you to those in this forum who have asked great questions, and to those who have given great answers! I have read a quite a bit on this thread over the years, and very much recently. Everyones insight has helped massively.

I tend to do more reading and learning here on APC than I do posting. However since my post in the "Introduce yourself" thread a few years ago a lot has changed! A little more experience under the belt and I have been offered the wonderful opportunity to interview at Atlas. I have wanted to work for Atlas for a very, very long time. Just the chance to interview alone has made me excited beyond words!

I completed the online test and phone interview in May, and was offered an interview date.

I am wondering if anyone else who has an interview date coming up (or anyone who has interviewed recently) would like to chat a bit. Perhaps compare gouges, and see if we've all been on the same page as far as preparation goes. Might as well implement the "cooperate and graduate" philosophy now, haha. Feel free to send me a message!

Thanks again to everyone on here!

I have seen a guitar or two (one of those small collapsible ones as I recall) and perhaps a harmonica. Other than that not much. I think Atlas pilots' crew rest talents lie in other areas. Most involve beer and / or food. ;-)

I am fully capable of holding my own with food and beer (beer IS food, correct?). I dabble with the banjo also. Would love to pick a little when far from home.

I just updated my resume with crewjobs. No jet nor FMS time. Over 3000 hrs PIC in the ATR 72 and 42, much of it in southern India. 7000+ total time with a desire for the Atlas schedule and destinations. I have at least one internal. I've read virtually every page on this thread, but I'm sure I'm forgotten stuff :-( I do hope I get a shot at the test.

Guess we shall see.....

Do it. I'm a drummer, so it's easy for me to carry sticks on the road, but there are people who bring guitars along. 17 days on the road is a long enough time... Don't ignore your outside interests!

Well, the spirit of your idea is not crazy, but that stuff is too big and bulky to carry around the world.

Latex bands and similar type things work well though. You can get up and stretch, climb the stairs a few times, pushups, etc while on the plane.

Some of the hotels have good gyms and others suck. Body weight exercises are your friend.

YouTube channel called Fitness Blender is most excellent. Work out anywhere even in a Japanese hotel room...
