First time poster and long time reader.

Question on V1

I understand how V1 is calculated and the factors affecting balanced field length (i.e. mass and thrust available). However, I'm unable to determine for certain whether or not wet or contaminated runway and shorter runway affects V1 if at all.

Wet or contaminated runway?
decreases v1 due to rebalancing of balanced field length (higher accelerate go distance and lower accelerate stop distance)

Shorter runway?
decrease V1-weight restricted and field limited

Any help is appreciated Also, any links to an approved vendor explaining the reasons would be appreciated.

I understand the training on the 74 isn't the greatest, but this is the first I've heard the term 'toxic' applied to the training program. That doesn't give a guy warm fuzzies.
They had a nickname at World for the 747. Ask any of the World guys about it

If this is for the Atlas test, you are asking a bunch of Atlas pilots who are completely unable to pass that test themselves....

So, if I have taken the online test in late October and scored REALLY well, but have yet to hear anything, am I still ok and should consider the Holiday season as the discriminator for the silence? Thanks!

QOTD! 12k+ hours TT and 7k+ jet PIC and I'd have to think long and hard about this stuff. It isn't like the good old days when we had charts and plotters out determining this kind of thing. Now we inout numbers and wait for Aerodata to comeback with a go/no-go, flap setting, and a trim setting and call it a day! LOL

yeah that won't happen if you get unlucky enough to get stuck with the 76

you'll actually have to remember how to be a pilot again!

I'm in the same boat. Took the test a few days after getting the invite, got a 92 and then crickets. Hope to get a call sometime, maybe after the new year. I hear theres a backlog of newhires.
