At the job fair I went to about a year ago, the recruiter looked over my resume and said it was exactly what they were looking for. Your being able to show a pattern of career progression is more important to them than PIC.

Hope you get the call soon!
Thanks!
and the screen name? lol ...what a...???

For the line holders out there, how old was the youngest captain you ever flew with?
...and if I dare to ask, the oldest f/o?
..that's for both 76 and 74 types

Really? It's a check-ride for a FAA Type-rating; wear a tie and show respect! Just be glad that we don't wear hats on the line...

It is a FAA type ride. Not to be outdone by the elegantly planned wing ceremony..

Want to get paid like a professional, dress like a professional. Dress like a laborer, expect to be treated and paid like a laborer.

It won't kill a person and there is nothing silly about dressing in a suit in tie.

The individual administering the checkride will be wearing a tie. I recommend you wear a tie.

Seems like the happy medium is to wear the tie, and as you go into the simulator ask "Do you mind if I make myself comfortable?", before you remove it.

The second question is easy. 64. Many times.

It has not been rare for 20,000+ hour pilots, with deep wells of experience and excellent qualifications, to finish their careers in the right seat. This has been a brutal business over the past 35 years.

Hopefully the non tie wearing generation will have a better ride.
