There are some very detailed charts that use the official Atlas seniority lists that show Atlas has an attrition rate over 25% of the new hires for the last two years. I believe the percentage is slowly increasing. It doesn't detail which pilots have gone to LCC's, corporate, foreign, or legacy carriers, but pilots have gone to companies in all of those categories.

Default what is the status on Southern Air/Atlas ???

What is the hiring at Atlas in relation to the Southern Air acquisition ???

If I get the job at Atlas, will SA crews be senior to me ?? What is the final decision on the seniority merger ??? On the bottom of the Atlas list ??? When will SA lose the first 777 to Atlas ?? or when will Atlas take the first 777 from SA ??? What is the status of the SA 737 crews ???
remember; this is a acquisition, not a merger.

Do the SA guys have guaranteed interviews ??, priority on hiring ??

I have already been interviewed at Atlas, just waiting for the call.

So did you just interview today, hoping for a job offer, and already want to staple the Southern guys to the bottom of the list, after you're DOH of course...?

There won't be a stapling. The lists will be integrated. All current Southern pilots would be senior to you if you're hired.

Nobody knows when the list integration will occur. If you're hired at Atlas there will be crewmembers at Southern who are senior to you after that but nobody knows how that will work. Right now it's a big mystery. Please understand that when you merge lists it must be done in accordance with The McCaskill-Bond law that forbids stapling. I don't think stapling is ethical and it will mean people come in on top of me. Atlas will also get Southern's airplanes and that'll mean additional captain slots.

In my class of 12 from early 2013 only 3 remain. Two are on mil leave last time I heard.

Mine had 8... 2 left and 1 is on mil but going to leave as soon as they're done with mil.

While I understand your curiosity, let me paraphrase Jim Lovell:

"All right, there's a thousand things that have to happen in order. You are at number eight. You're talking about number six hundred and ninety-two."

Atlas and Southern will be merged (and it is always an acquisition from a legal standpoint, so don't sweat the semantics). Whatever happens, outsiders looking at it will think that it was semi-reasonable. No one will be sodomized, nevertheless everyone involved will think that they were.

And there is nothing you [or me] can do about how it pans out. It will be what it will be. The only person with a real decision is the quy with class dates at both, and even then both class dates need to be the same day for it to be a really hard decision.

In 2 years we will be one big family, except for that half a dozen guys who will still be wearing their old airline lanyards.

And here is what you really need to know once you are on line. Atlas Captains like the trash bag in the center. Polar Captains like on the Captain's arm rest. My understanding is that the Southern method is to put it on the FO's arm rest. Do not put it in the wrong place.

But wait! Do you see a bag on this Captain's chair?

LOL. So true. ^^^^

Not to stir the pot but being they are both IBT 1224 the seniority would be integrated with DOH. So I have been told.
