Over the past year and a half that I've been here the secret seems to be to show up to work. In 16 months there has been only one that I've not been into overtime. I've not pushed for it with scheduling, it's just how things have worked out...and all without taking days off to do it. This is a busy place at the moment and particularly during your first 50 hour guarantee year gathering OT shouldn't be much of a problem.
Caveat: this is my story and that of others may not be the same. Your mileage may vary. I'd be surprised if it didn't turn out the same way, though.

For those of you that are interested, the first 767-300ER just landed in JFK after a short flight from MIA.
I heard that they are going to do the proving runs soon after the evacuation exercise for the FAA is done in a few days...seems that it is pretty much running on schedule.
