Anyone heading up to the EWR fltops job fair this Friday to meet up with Denise? Has Atlas attended many of these in the past? Any feedback from those who have previously met up with their recruiters?

Will there be a 74/76 class mix going forward, or will they primarily lean 76?

Actually, I think they'll be primarily 744 classes with a few 767 classes thrown in once in a while...

UNOFFICIAL REPEAT UNOFFICIAL RUMOR!!!!! 1 -200 class before end of year. Again this is a rumor and only a rumor therefore it is a rumor. There is no official meaning to this rumor and there is no class date implied this is just a rumor!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the freshly painted 767 sitting under the old deicing hanger (radiant heat?) yesterday. Looks pretty nice. Then we taxied to the end of 13R and there were 3 747s there! This is making my time in the pool that much longer!! I hate swimming.

12 1/2 yr XJT guy, Res/PAQ in 4 mths on Nov. 10th, preparing for a call soon, I hope... Attending Flt Ops Ewr job fair this Fri. as well.

I have 2 tech ?'s if someone is willing to help me out please:

1. Getting off Nat Tracks, I have two FAA pubs one saying the initial turn is 90* L or R to exit to a 15 nm offset track, & the other pub says the init turn is 45* L or R for the 15nm offset. Which one is correct; I'm thinking it changed in 2010 to 45*?

B. Lateral distance between Tacks? Can't find that one anywhere in any official pub. I'm thinking 30 nm since the 15 nm from above ? is half that distance and that seems "halfway" familiar.

Any help Greatly Appreciated!!!

The 2010 ICAO Nat Track manual says to make a turn " of at least 45 degrees" and get your 15 mile offset.

Tracks are normally at least one degree apart which will give you 60 mile north/south separation.

Interviewed yesterday, an impressive group... 12 originally, but one had to re-schedule. Two Guard C17 guys, an Fighter guy from the USMC, several other former military now civilian, ASTAR, 747 operators, and DOD contractors flying overseas, as well as an experienced CA from a regional airline. Two USAFA grads in the group. Everyone was in sport coats and slacks with dress shirts, and two came with ties that took them off early on.

They said they're hiring rate is something like 60-70% of each interview group... but at times can be 100%.

They were going to slow down classes over the holiday but will resume in Jan, however they didn't indicate if they'd also slow down interviews over the holiday.

The interviews were very straight forward, no good cop / bad cop, no curve balls questions or anything unfair... just be yourself and that's all you can do. Answer as truthfully as you can and don't be canned, be a bit spontaneous. There was a technical which lasted 15 min and was partially instructional (we also went over a couple of missed questions from the on-line test); a panel interview with a line CA, an HR rep and a Management rep which was extremely casual and friendly in tone, and a one on one with a flight ops management captain to go over your background and experience. They were extremely efficient with time and keeping on schedule (a schedule which they gave us first thing in the morning).

Lunch was served around 1130 right there in the conference room / meeting area, and we met with a line captain / instructor pilot who gave us a bit of "life at Atlas" and took questions on everything from schedules, to call signs and what ACMI is vs CMI.. etc..

I'd give yourself a few extra min (we left hotel 30 min early) to get there, or at least recon the sight, as we did have one person show up late due to getting lost.

That's about it... for the most part this blog has been spot on and very helpful... I'd make sure anyone you know interviewing there reads it first.
