Thanks for the replies gents. Speaking of Germany, I hear they have a 16 day party that just started with some locals as pictured below (ok maybe they aren't German locals ). You guys at Atlas are all probably too busy studying your manuals to make it out though ? 744, If you could change into some workout gear, I could see maybe bringing a kettlebell on a long haul flight. Especially since you guys have that whole upper deck to yourselves (I think). No shower facilities though for the post workout. Maybe a lot of wet naps would work! Sounds like you guys stay in nice hotels, so I'd imagine they have good workout facilities to help keep the weight in check too?

Default Tech Test Prep

For those of us still waiting for the call, getting the rust brushed off as several have suggested (DC8, 744, et.al) has not gone unnoticed.

The intel that has been gained as of this writing shows that there are plenty of questions generated from that grand ATP Test bank that has been cheerfully taken by all.

Taking the ATP RED BOOK around is not my preference----I have fallen asleep with it too many times. For IPAD Users I just found PREPWARE ATP software by ASA for $9.99. Not too expensive and you can select the areas you wish to strengthen/remember. For example, I have seen no intel asking and Weight/Balance questions in the 100 question test.

For me, it is very helpful...YMMV. Along with my White Book that is a compilation of all of the other stuff, I have not been bored with this process.

I hope this is helpful for those still waiting the call.

With all the international flying and deadheading, do your passports get filled up in a year or less at Atlas?
Tobacco: A few weeks ago I downloaded the investor presentation shown at the Global Industrial A&D Conference conducted on 8/9/2012 (Atlas World Wide website). Page 34 of the presentation shows one 747-400BCF being retired in 2014. Page 36 lists all of the Mx Events taken place for the years noted. The net aircraft gained based on this report is 2.

I believe the latest news release provides work for all of the confirmed orders of the 747-800 (9 orders). It will be very nice to see if the options are exercised as well as additional growth for the 767 operation.

The information in the last few company reports were very good reads and provide a nice education for those of us without ACMI frontline experience.

I hope you find this useful.

Just a quick heads up about our new ride ...

The "8" in the 747-8 is a reference to the 787 technology that went into the newest iteration of the big jet. I can't tell you exactly what that technology is because we don't yet have 787's (ha!) but you'll sound much better during the phone interview if you can remember to skip the "800" reference and use the "dash 8" moniker instead.

Thanks Vertigo and DC8 driver. Leave it to Boeing to try to confuse folks. Looks like a nice ride!

Or, like ESPN 8 on the movie Dodgeball, I call the -8 "The Ocho"!

With the classics parked, the -400 has become the "new classic".

Confusingly, I believe Boeing did name the pax version the "-800, Intercontinental".

Thank you kind Sir. Patience sure is a virtue we sometimes seem to forget. I do admit being devoured by suspense every now and then waiting for that FedEx package to arrive as the expectation was that of hearing something inside of three weeks. But as you said, no news has mostly been good news in the past and that is somewhat comforting.

I am truly hopeful that everyone who interviewed with me on August 29th gets a favorable response! You all looked great, spoke well and represented your interest professionally!!! It made me quite happy to see how well prepared everyone seemed. Thank you all for making my interview experience so pleasant.

Well spoken Baam as I was in the room with you and concur. As for the boys beginning their jobs with Atlas this morning at the crew hotel: Enjoy your coffee & realize you are one of the 160+ out of the 6800 who applied. We hope to join you soon.
Godspeed.

I love that Honey Badger pic by the way, its quite funny!!!! Hey, did I meet you on the hotel shuttle on the 28th. Trying the simple elimination technique to nail down who you were lol. I also have the option of sending a PM but this is more fun...kinda like waiting for the good or bad news lol. And that's also an interesting stat btw; 160 + out of 6,800 applicants...quite heavily sought after position(s) I would say...
