Can't remember how many we're hired (at that time) but the overall average seemed to be about 30-40% of those interviewed. AGAIN, that was the average across the board. Some interview days/months seemed to have well over half the people from those groups get the pool letter while other groups had a small minority get the pool letter.

Above text in bold is based on the Aug 15 seniority list...and we have hired several classes since then. I spoke to a Management guy in CVG and he said last month that we had just started a class with our 1,000th pilot...someone that has the time can analyze our list and post how many retirements new hires can expect (heck, I want to know, but I'm too lazy to figure it out!!) in the next 3,5,10, etc years...

True. I was simply stating what you, and others have in the thread multiple times. Atlas is very picky, because they can be. As well as the fact that there's A LOT of qualified/good people trying to get hired. And just getting to the interview says A LOT. But rest assured, even then it's not over and the candidate STILL has to do a good job.

And looking at the numbers you provided, the interview tempo was 30-36 pilots a month when it was fast and furious. Granted NOT every month. You could probably average it out to well over 6-800 interviewed since it started.

By my count we have 6 retiring this year, 28 in 2013, 33 in 14, 24 in 15, 26 during 2016, 23 in 17, 28 in 2018, 33 in 19 and 20 in 2020.

I was a little bored on my last Oceanic crossing, so I counted the scheduled retirements based on the 15 AUG 2012 seniority list, here's what I came up with: 30-2013, 37-2014, 31-2015, 28-2016 that's a total of 126 hitting 65 in the next 4 years, and we have many more on LTM.

seems to be a slight disparity in the numbers between twin and giant... never the less.... its nice movement anyways. And I suspect as much as everyone seems to love Atlas, you still have a few that move on for various reasons.

Ahh, the love of the "commercial airline" job...legacy is what we call it now. You'll always have guys that love to fly for the majors...knowing full well (or maybe they don't) that it is not what it used to be. Remember the movie with Leonardo Dicaprio, Catch Me if You Can where he plays a Pan Am pilot...well, those days are gone. But a lot of young (and not so young) guys don't see that the rubber-dog-xhit-out-of-Hong-Kong guys are doing a hell of a lot better nowadays (FDX, UPS, and yes, even Atlas).

I absolutely concur 744. I am actually an airline guy looking at what I think is a better lifestyle. Only difference is, I have 0 interest in FDX, UPS or other cargo outfits. Atlas is it for me or nothing. I have narrowed it down to three options; 1) Atlas, 2) Stay where I am or 3) wind-down my aviation committments to concentrate on my other private enterprise pursuits. The second and third options are interchangeable lol.

Thanks for all the valuable information you have posted over time. I have stayed abreast with the information on this thread and value the time that everyone has taken to make all the invaluable contributions. You guys feel like family in ways more than one and I encourage you continued participation. I am currently awaiting the good or not-so-good news and will stay connected and available to assist anyone of you however I can!

Lets not get too all high and mighty. We, Atlas, are light years behind FedEx and UPS. A nice job, yes, however we are not even close too being in their league. In addition to dollars we are severely lacking in pay protection (as in we have none), and scheduling. I am not sure that we are not pulling up the rear on these ares even to most regionals.
