T minus 6 days till THE day. Anyone else interviewing on the 18h? Commutes are unpredictable so having an ETA may be hard to say but if it works out I'm planning on visiting this infamous 'Grille' its fans keep talking about. (WHOA, that totally rhymed!!)

Anyone at Atlas have a hotel stay planned for the coming week? It would be a treat to meet-and-greet..-and-grill!

That new place? Djibouti...yes, Djibouti, and had a great time, thank you very much. Don't know where it is? Well, that's part of the adventure, isn't it?

Oh, and another one added a month or so before that...Romania (Bucharest, and Constanta). And I only count the ones where I have a hotel stay!!
Oh yeah, I've also had the pleasure of checking the Djibouti box. Definitely part of the adventure. Even commercialed out through Ethiopia for good measure.

Did you leave the compound?

We deadheaded on KLM to NBO then KQ (Kenya Airways, eek!!) to JIB...

And no we did not leave the compound...beautiful swimming pool, with nice cold, adult beverages, and great food at the hotel's two restaurants.

See my post above about domestic flying...not interested!! But that is a personal choice. There are quite a few that bid the CVG base so that they have a better chance of flying that stuff. Notice I said "better chance"...that means just that...because sCrew Scheduling owns your butt for 17 days and will use you wherever they need you. But I've heard that for the most part it works for those CVG 767 guys.

IMHO, they can all have that flying...keep me flying to those garden spots of the world (see above discussion about JIB!!).

Any animosity between Atlas and ABX crews since the Atlas jets are former ABX?

Not that I have noticed the 3-4 times I have operated from the DHL hub in CVG...but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen/exist. Other guys are likely better positioned to answer this one...

I've only done three or four runs out of CVG on the -400 but have seen nothing that would indicate it. There are several outfits doing DHL work and we are just one more. I would imagine the ABX folks are miffed at how DHL treated them but it's probably directed at DHL rather than the other haulers.
