Quick recap on study topics:
Decode metar and TAF
Airport lighting
International notams
Prog chart symbols such as turbulence and wind speed
ILS mins cat 1-3
Rvsm requirements
Definition of a hurricane
Just some I remember! Good luck and welcome aboard!
Also just so I got my rumors straight, we are buying Delta and fencing the 747's for Atlas pilots only right?

Since when is maintenance and reliability a -8 asset?

Hey just passed the online assessment! Thanks to everyone on here that has provided information and help. Being that there were 100 questions in 60 minutes it was VERY rushed. I finished and had time to review 2 questions before it cut me off. There were more questions on weather theory than previous people had mentioned. I studied "Ace the Technical Pilot Interview" and I would say that's an excellent guide for studying. There really isn't time during the test to look anything up, and they only give you a few days to take the test, so I would definitely be studied up if you're hoping to get an invitation to take it. Thanks again everyone!

The greater dispatch reliability of the -8's over the 400's is an asset.
The -8 warranties cover repair of major components for first four years and there is a heavy maintenance “honeymoon” that Boeing pays. That cost savings is an asset.
The 747-8 has more than a 15% fuel efficiency advantage over the 747-400, 16 percent more revenue cargo volume than the 747-400 Freighter, four additional main-deck pallets and three additional lower-hold pallets, and an additional 22 tons (20 tones) of payload.
Based on the poor dispatch performance of a couple of our older maintenance plagued 400's, I think "replacing" them with -8's would be a wise thing to do.

If true, that would be a reversal of the was it has been done in the past when the phone interview was the first step followed by the invitation to do the online test.
Good to know, but any confirmation on this change?

The idea of essentially flying C-17 missions without dealing with TACC plus slightly better accommodations, duty days, and crew rest puts a smile on my face.

^^^^^Good description of the life at Atlas...only it's even better than that. I'm a former active duty C-5 guy and current C-5 reservist. I can tell you first hand that Atlas flying is a lot like doing the C-5 mission without all the crappy stuff. I hope you get an invite soon.
