This attitude is what will allow that to happen. The statement from every Atlas pilot should be "Under no circumstance will we allow them to keep us from our contractually negotiated right to a seat." I hope if they push it that everyone stands up for their cause.

There is no way to keep us out of 747 vacancies unless we vote to amend the CBA in some way.
And really, the idea that a single rate would fix all this is incorrect; 747 pilots would still make more due to greater block credit (they can break rig this way), and hazardous duty pay. Also, I want a bunk.

That's not an attitude -- rather a fact. Think I am happy making 15% less a month than a junior guy to me? No. But be honest with yourself...it's not costing the company a dime while we complain about it. We will see what happens once seat lock starts coming up in sept and see where the movement is. If there are hurdles to getting out of the 76 I think you will see an uproar from the "other" pilot group at atlas and if still no change an exodus to legacies/fdx/ups. It's going to be a buyers market soon.
The problem is with our union who is 747 centric and it doesn't bother most of the pilots in the group. Solidarity?? Hard when there are two pilots - the 747 pilot group and the ones that wish they were on the 747 with junior guys behind them.

It was "the union" that filed a Grievance that freed all 6 of the 767 FOs that were wrongly placed on the 767 when they started class last year. It was "the union" that fought for ALL six of them, even though only four could've held a 747 slot in their class seniority...
I was there...ask one of the six, it was "the union"...
Please call me...and I will tell you the story...I will prove to you how "the union" has taken steps to get both fleets represented.

But, then there's the 150% hazardous duty pay that we 767 drivers have no access to. A match to 747 rates would still result in less pay, and we'd still be schlepping empty cans on an 11.5 hour SYD-ICN leg with nothing but a jumpseat to rest in.
At least in my opinion, what needs to be fixed first is the seniority list. A rate match would help, but it'd simply be a bandaid.

A friend of mine up in ANC did 85 hours last month for roughly 75 hours of rig. Might not happen often... I wouldn't know.

It definitely doesn't happen often! I think I average about 72 -73 hours a month and flying with a 6th year LA guy last month he said he averaged in the 70's all of last year.
I have the "willing to fly in hostile regions" checked and have yet to see any of that pay after 14 months online - a few very senior guys may get the lines with a few turns to make extra pay. Kind of like the open time and out basing!
Don't know what 767 guys are making but on second year pay I would expect to average 73 hours a month for about $85000 on second year 747 pay. How many credit hours can you expect on the 767?
I do agree the lack of the bunk really sucks on the 767 for the SYD runs.

744 - I know you are a huge advocate - I hear a lot of good things from others about you!!
I am not saying we are without representation on our fleet but we are unbalanced...poor choice of wording on my part. My sincere apologies.

Fair enough...I was kinda harsh as well, no disrespect intended...can we get a group hug now?!!
I do see your frustration, and trust me I'm just as upset at the slow progress around here. But we all have to chip in and make this work...at least until our 3-year purgatory expires this fall (for some of us at least). Or at least until you youngsters make your way to greener pastures!!
