Atlas Air Hiring

This! We can control more than many realize, but we must stand together! Easy to say and hard to do for sure, but it is possible.

We are all forming the mindset needed for the fight ahead and it will be a fight. Yes, this place is better than many, but it is also worse than a lot. The company has not equally shared in the profits as a result of our hard work. The majority of the group posting I think are more junior Atlas pilots. We are in a unique position to make this place a tier one carrier or shut it down trying. After all, everyone else will be hiring if this company does not want to share in the profits.
To the people on here pointing out all that is wrong with Atlas, it is easy to fall into the trap of inaction. Please turn your energy into a positive outcome and get involved with the union. Our union needs you...especially for what is around the corner.
There is a difference between complaining and a war cry. This is our WAR CRY!!!

Absolutely. For everyone that says the union doesn't do enough, YOU are the union. YOU should be taking a stand every time the company tries to circumvent the contract. Calling the union should be the next step after you've fought the good fight. Too many think that posting on the union web board (instead of actually calling/emailing a Steward) will magically get things fixed. Nope. To win this fight, we all have to do our part.

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW) today announced the placement of additional Boeing 747-400 Freighter ACMI services for DHL Express, the world's leading international express shipping company.
ACMI services under the new agreement will provide additional intercontinental capacity for DHL Express from Asia commencing in mid-June. At that time, Atlas will operate a total of four 747-8Fs and six 747-400Fs in ACMI service on behalf of DHL. Atlas will also continue to operate seven Boeing 767 Freighters in CMI service for DHL.
"We are delighted to expand our long-standing relationship with DHL and to support the strong growth of its global network operations," said William J. Flynn, President and Chief Executive Officer, Atlas Air Worldwide.

I'm a P2P guy who tries to know the CBA cold and, since I wear the IBT P2P lanyard, tries to set a good example. While I'm certainly no expert, I'm really appalled at the lack of CBA knowledge of guys who've been here years longer than I have.
Worse yet, we have plenty of guys who know the CBA, but make side deals anyway. Helps nobody.

If we allow ANY 3/4 digit ID numbers (original Atlas) on the next EXCO it will lead to the same road of mediocrity this place has been on for 20 years. The original Polar pilots + those hired in the last 5 years represent a controlling voting body. If we do not stand up and use it we will end up with the same (super senior, check airman) self serving ideology that exist now. How would you feel about 24+ year pay scales? Just another way to trow all the money to the top of the list. The conversation is already happening in those circles.
As for the upcoming political season, the EXCO voting, the present one is already trying to drive the campaigning to not start until as late and as close to the vote as possible. I think this one is going to get ugly.
