I have so many friends trying to join our company. Just disappointing to see so many distraught folks. Yes, we can band together and force change, but at the end of the day I know a dozen guys willing to trade places with you in a heartbeat. Just wanted to inject some reality. For what it's worth, this has been a great place to work...lots of good people, great equipment and good QoL overall.

My idea was two checkboxes in the monthly bidding schedule.
Box 1: I require all my vacation days and all my days off in this bidding period.
Box 2: I require that all my training days be awarded during my days of work.
If you check the box, you do not lose any days off. If you don't check the box, then you can bid as you normally do.

This is all good discussion however it has drifted considerably from the thread purpose. Perhaps the union/contract discussion, which is a worthy one, may need its own thread?

Despite being in the "Hiring Section", this has become the master thread for Atlas Air. Unless moderators want to move the entire thread to another section, all topics related to Atlas on APC will continue in this "Hiring Area". It is where all Atlas pilots (or those wanting to be Atlas pilots) on APC go for Atlas discussion and if someone want to ask hiring related questions, I think our past track record shows that we will be more than happy to discuss those questions when they are brought up.

Miami was extremely quiet all week - which means nothing is going on or a lot is going on - subject to change in an hour.
A lot of grumblings in hallways of folks leaving for other airlines - that rumor is slowly becoming a reality.

Looks like we need pilots though. All these open time emails and trips getting canceled for lack of crews. I can't wait for a few years from now when we can't get anybody to come work here and attrition is even higher. We'll just be asked to "lean forward" even more! BOHICA!

Don't assume that when canceled, it is due to lack of crews. MANY times customers talk to marketing about a possible trip, then get someone else to operate it or the plane can't be in the right place at the right time. Many times they cancel before the time is up on the open time and you don't see them offer to all bases.
