Despite being in the "Hiring Section", this has become the master thread for Atlas Air. Unless moderators want to move the entire thread to another section, all topics related to Atlas on APC will continue in this "Hiring Area". It is where all Atlas pilots (or those wanting to be Atlas pilots) on APC go for Atlas discussion and if someone want to ask hiring related questions, I think our past track record shows that we will be more than happy to discuss those questions when they are brought up.

Although I hate thread drift. I tend to agree with JonnyKnoxville. It seems like this thread has become sort of one-stop shopping for Atlas.

Miami was extremely quiet all week - which means nothing is going on or a lot is going on - subject to change in an hour.

A lot of grumblings in hallways of folks leaving for other airlines - that rumor is slowly becoming a reality.

Looks like we need pilots though. All these open time emails and trips getting canceled for lack of crews. I can't wait for a few years from now when we can't get anybody to come work here and attrition is even higher. We'll just be asked to "lean forward" even more! BOHICA!

Where would yall prefer the thread moved to? I'm assuming cargo? I can rename it "All things Atlas Air" or something similar.

I'm about to go flying, but will be back around 0030E tonight.

Don't assume that when canceled, it is due to lack of crews. MANY times customers talk to marketing about a possible trip, then get someone else to operate it or the plane can't be in the right place at the right time. Many times they cancel before the time is up on the open time and you don't see them offer to all bases.

Sounds like we had a number of no shows to our last new hire class. Doesn't make any sense, Mr. C said that Atlas was a top tier destination airline... huh....

Regarding open time trips. I'm on my pattern and am being sent home early. Yet I see these open time trips. I don't see how someone on an X day gets to volunteer over someone who is already on their pattern.

Ditto, BRD. I try to pick up some of these open time trips, but I never get them... Yet, I was sent home business class from Europe when I asked to extend my pattern (VX) to complete the trip. How many of those emails come out every day? Clogs my account!

Although not in "official" CBA negotiations, what if we took a page from our FedEx bubbas/bub-ettes right now and unite as a group to NOT VX anymore? No more VX, no more out-base... Just the line awarded, no more, no less. I will refrain, if we decide as a pilot group to do so.
