So captain pay will be $100 an hour more than Atlas and they'll get the B fund. How much longer will our group turn a blind eye to how grossly underpaid we are? Plus we give them "flexibility" on top of it.

In all honesty the 767 Captains can justify leaving if they're younger than 55. You'll make it up. At this point I'm hoping to upgrade to the 767 to make my resume look good for a real airline...

Our current union leaderships negotiating position is sadly the problem and many of the old heads whom have run this misguided ship with the famous "What are we willing to give up for...." Its as though our leadership doesn't believe our contribution is worth it.

Elections are coming up and it seems things are going in the right direction....time for a new way of getting to where this place deserves to be..

Guys,

I understand where your loyalties are, but please don't post campaign links here...this is not the place for it.

Can we at least keep this thread (or even this site) free of political discussions? I am not really sure how that serves the guy that is trying to get a job here.

Mike,
I am curious what that "negotiating position" is since we are not in negotiations? Can you help me understand what you know? Or how you know the ship is misguided? What is your frame of reference? What other airlines have you worked for? Have you actually done any negotiations or even read a book on negotiations? Have you done any union work anywhere that you would know how the negotiations ebb-and-flow goes?

I have looked at that link you put there and see no real thoughts or ideas on how to steer the misguided ship. Can you help us all understand what the new guys are going to do other than publish their pay statements?

It would also be interesting to know what they have done in the past. Eastern? Union or Unfortunate date of hire? Pan-Am (or Carnival?). Wasn't one of the guys under some sort of indictment with the company or the union?

Without any real data or a link to a web-site that has solutions to the real problems your post is moot. In fact you sound like a sour grapes military guy with no experience and and no solutions.

What gives? That was not anything I ever learned in the military.

Guys,

Please move this off this thread...serves no purpose for the intent of this thread. Please move this to our union pages.

Thanks.

Exactly what I was thinking! With the legacy contracts already being so much better than ours, and with most of them negotiating even bigger contracts right now, a prospective new hire might want to know some things about 1224 and where it could be heading. Diversity in this thread is needed. I mean…there is already 923 pages on "Atlas Hiring." Keep it up because there are other things that might affect a pilot wanting to come here.
