I think I might already possibly know the answer? But, would anyone recommend going to AmeriJet as a Line Check Airman. I'm younger (33), 767 typed, live in Cincinnati. I wasn't sure if maybe living in CVG would be advantageous or not. Anyways, I know the negativity of the ACMI world, I've been in it before. I'm just wondering if it might be something worth looking at. Thanks

Common theme here is ATI, 5X, K4.
Plus they are already hating in the new DECs and checkairman here.
You’d be better off at mesa right now. AJT is now the crown jewel of low pay.

I didn't know Amerijet hires DEC much less someone to be a check-pilot off the street. Probably not the best practice but these are difficult times which we live in. Of course as mention by others, ATI and Atlas are home based and have operations in CVG, ABX is domiciled at CVG.

I would have to (double) check with my friends at UpsCo who are flight qualified managers (I can't recall the particular name UPS calls them..). I believe their duties/responsibilities are limited when compared to what a typical seniority number holding LCA can perform. Additionally, the position is not represented by their union and pay is quite different....at least that's how I understood it without asking the real details of those positions. Regardless, not many others in the industry have hired LCA's who will hold a seniority number (such as a DEC). Pro sim instructors....that's another animal in itself.

The politics of it all is beyond my pay grade (Pun intended) because this is due to the demand just like guys are getting command at Delta after just a few months, the degree requirement is no more at many majors and airlines like Amerijet now all of a sudden looking to double its pilot group and about to sign a new contract and me getting 3 offers for an LCA position.
But of course, this thread descended into "Go to MESA instead" as it does on a regular basis.
But to answer Av8er1550 question, you mentioned that you are younger (33) and typed on the 76. These type of LCA off the street jobs are really meant for people that have extensive experience not only on the type of aircraft but also training. Not sure if you applied already and were offered the position? If so, then you have a reason as to why ask the question. Otherwise, is just academic.
There are a lot of very experienced pilots that tend to go for these jobs when they appear, especially due to the salaries they are offering that are not bad at all. So, apply and get the offer first, then you can choose between this and MESA.

But UPS crews refer to them as NURPs, Non Union Replacement Pilot.

Hello guys,
I have been accepted to Amerijet, can I ask couple of questions if you don’t mind?
1-) How is the insurance?
2-) I’m flying B777 at one of the largest international carrier. It will be my first part 121 airline.
3-) Is it possible to get days off in a row?
4-) After having 1000 hours, Can I get upgrade straight away?
5-) I have been informed in the interview that they will improve the conditions. But they didn’t specify exactly on what they will improve?
6-) Why do people resign from here fairly quick? What is the main reason of the resignations.
Thank you so much guys in advance

Almost nobody thinks of an ACMI carrier as a career destination. The big names in US airlines, where you can make more money while working less under better conditions, are hiring like it's going out of style. Nearly anybody who wants to go to one of those airlines can do so after a very short stay at another company.
