The Man obviously has MAD skills to be hired at 25. That's all there is to it. Skills to pay the bills.

Mr. Pilot,

I guess you can call it "being in the right place at the right time". In 1990 when I was trying to get hired by anyone out there, UPS was the only one who offered me a job. I did interview with just about every other major airline who was hiring. As it turned out luck was on my side. That's why I give Thanks for what I have. Never give up on what you want. Flying is a great career. UPS is a great company to work for. We all bit*h alot around the club house but we know we are very fortunate. Best wishes to you.

Cheers,
CW

That doesn't change the facts that our benevolent employer doesn't care a rat's ass about any of us personally and will take potshots at us individually (like CW) whenever they can. As a whole they don't care, but individually they are very vindicative and petty.

Maybe in a few years you will realize how good you have it here as well as how some people will always hold it against you. I have js with CW many times and a more professional pilot you will not find.

Wake up and smell the coffee....

Well... I am not a newbie and have been here as long as CW and know him well, that is why I was a bit un-nerved by his tone. But, after stepping back I saw his message and also appreciated his comments. As far as your comments, I totally disagree...I think you have it backwards. We, those in postions to interface with you on a one-to-one level do care. Many have given up trying to do the right thing, but that doesn't mean we don't care.
I beleive that this company just and any very large entity has a life of its own, in that small changes except on a very limited basis are swallowed up by the larger events. I challenge you to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. Ken Mase, as pollyana-ish as he was was right in that your attitude will determine most of your outcomes. Hang in there and don't get angry, get motivated.

"that is why I was a bit un-nerved by his tone."

"Yeah, YOU are quite the man"
"By the way, rocket scientist, it is entitled, not intitled. Figures"

HAHA. I read back a bit. I think I question your tone more than his.

I have no idea who you think I am but I assure you I was born and raised right here in the good ol' US of A.

Let's put everything in perspective. Since it's obvious people here have a short memory. How could someone get hired in their mid twenty's?

Easy. UPS in the late 80's and early 90's was a last resort for pilot applicants. The Pax. airlines were hiring huge numbers and had good contracts and day flying. UPS on the hand was a night freight hauler that flew DC-8's. If you were warm, and could understand some English you were hired. They were on the bottom of the ladder and they had to find anyone to fill the seats. Facts.

Now fast forward, and UPS is the golden child. They make money and are buying brand new 747-400's. Now everyone wants to jump on board. And the walking Dead hired 15 years ago are now looking like studs.

You are exactly correct except for the last statement. Not all of us were the walking dead back then. I was more like a walking 25 year old stud. Now I am the walking dead. Good post.
