Default UPS Hiring

Does anybody have any information, or even rumors, about upcoming classes at UPS, and any information about long term hiring?

Thanks.

The company just announced 6 more MD-11s and 2 more 747-400s last week. They have to hire, but seem to be tight lipped until the contract is done.

Hi,

This is my first post here at APC. My question is regarding the application process. The first step in getting hired by UPS is filling out the online application correct? I have filled out all the requested information and pasted my resume to the area specified, however, all of my flight times and employment info are jumbled up and makes it very hard to read. To me it looks like my resume was to large for the area where I pasted it and got compressed down to fit. I have tried shrinking my resume down but had no luck. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to make it look cleaner? Did you leave it as is? Anyone who has been called for an interview or has been hired I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks very much,

Chrtrplt

Chrtr,

I typed my from scratch because I had the same problem when I pasted. Took longer, but best spent hour of my life. I'm in the pool now.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I guess I will reformat it from scratch also. Sorry for asking a different question within your thread.
How long have you been in the pool?

Chrtplt -

Less than a week. It's a great feeling around the house!

Good luck.

redtaila320,

Congrats on being in the pool. Is it safe to assume you also worked for an airline based in the upper mid west? Anyway, let me know if you have any questions about brown, I just got hired. Good luck.

What are the requirements to get a flight engineer position with UPS? What about FedEx? Are they the same for a first officer?

Requirements are the same. UPS and FedEx do not hire engineers, per se. They hire Second Officers, who will upgrade to First Officer when seniority allows.

In many cases (as of recent at UPS) First Officer positions are filled with new hires.
